The Experience

I'm the proud owner of a beautiful castle rebuilt in the XIV and XVIII century, in the heart of the forest of Burgundy. If Living in the building as it is, is marvellous, Lands and park require work. Having Volunteering Practiced on sites during many years we are able to speak many languages. Friends Worldwide are Welcome.

I really enjoyed my stay with Olivier and Joelle at the castle. We worked hard in the day, then afterwards we were able to talk and eat and relax in good company. The food was always excellent and an effort was made to introduce the volunteers to different kinds of French cuisine. One day Olivier gave us a tour of northern Bourgogne and explained the history of various castles in the region, for which I am grateful. I definitely recommend the experience to others.

Olivier and Joel - Olivier's partner, plus all the team were really incredible and we all vibe. To make this experience perfect we could have had some time to get to know the land and history of the castle all together in a tour. The work is very hard and intense for most part, and I wish the hours and days off were as agreed beforehand, except 2 days and the one day off we asked to have, we worked more than the agreed hours. The food and the wine were always well served. Dinner time was really nice, was a time we had to bound and relax.

Fue mi primer voluntariado y de verdad decepcionada, Oliver es buena persona pero hasta que le eres útil, cuando pregunte el horario se enojo y sólo sabía decir que había mucho trabajo, me pareció peor que una cárcel, te levantabas a trabajar, comías y trabajabas hasta en la tarde, después la comida y a dormir, no se podía usar el teléfono por que se enojaban, los días libres ni que decir (no existió) sólo descansamos un domingo y ese día nos llevaron a varios lugares que tuvimos que pagar. Ojalá que la aplicación haga cumplir a los anfitriones lo que ofrecen

Olga travelled from spain and was very tired when she arrived. After she get sick and it was difficult for her to work because she was weak. Unfortunatly she was only speaking spanish and it was not easy for her to be intergreted with the rest of the group. She was with us for lunch, dinner, cofee break but always on phone to deal with her buisness in chile. She was not really involved in the work itself or with the collectif. She should choose another way of traveling than worldpackers.

De fato a primeira experiência como voluntariado e adorei toda equipe, toda experiência e dedicação de todos! O trabalho é um pouco braçal mas consegues fazer no seu tempo apropriado, o Olivier e todos os envolvidos são prestativos! Agora tenho uma grande família na França e em um cantinho de cada lugar do mundo que vou levar pra toda vida, já estou ansioso para vê-los novamente! :)
