The hostel is an amazing place to be at. Venezuela as a whole has been an incredible and enriching experience, I have felt safe but more than anything I have felt welcome and like I belong. At the hostel I have felt like they value not only me, but everyone who works there, and all guests as well, the sense of camaraderie I saw there I had never seen before and to say it feels like being with family is an understatement. Anyone would be extremely lucky to be a part of it and it's certainly an excellent chance to meet travelers and learn more about Venezuelan culture!

I'm so greatful for this opportunity! During my stay I was mostly taking care of two wonderful dogs, Lily and Stitch, and I already miss them so much. Steven, the owner is an amazing person, always flexible, understanding and super fun. I met so many amazing travelers, as well as locals, which made this experience a great opportunity to socialize and immerse into local culture. Sharing my volunteer experience with José was just the best thing that could happen to me. Leaving this place after a month was really heartbreaking for me and I really hope to return soon. Thank you! <3

We stayed and worked four months in the hostel the best and the hostel in Caracas, where we met Steven and his family. They are very nice, kind and helpful people. We had also the opportunity to meet with a lot of local people and foreign travelers and we have learned a lot from them . Dont miss the opportunity to go to the hostel and visit Caracas!

El Sofá is a nice hostel to stay and do volunteer work. The host Steven is a nice friendly guy, also his parents are sometimes around which are also nice people. You work in shifts and the hours are respected. The place of the hostel is in a very safe and nice neighbourhood. Work consists of walking with the dogs, give food to the dogs and the cats, checking in and out guests, and sweeping the terras. Overall easy and calm shifts :) i had a very good experience in this hostel and i got to know the life as a Caraceño. Thanks for the experience Steven!!
