The Experience

We are a relatively new hostel in Antigua Guatemala, and are currently looking for volunteers who want to learn about hospitality and guest relations, as well as typical Guatemalan cooking. Reception shifts are 7am-12pm (breakfast shift) 12pm-5pm(afternoon shift) or 5pm-10pm(night shift). Shifts included assisting with breakfast and family dinner, setting up for event night, and check-in/out of guests, etc.

Immediate impressions of the hostel is how cosy and friendly it is, definitely has a family vibe to it. There's only 28 guests max so it's not too overwhelming compared to the other big hostels in Antigua making it more intimate. Really peaceful roof terrace with a hammock, full equipped kitchen you can use and the volunteer room has double sized bunk beds which was a refreshing change to standard single hostel beds! Shifts aren't too tricky and instructions are clear. Probably the best volunteering experience I've had, loved the crew and really enjoyed my stay!

I stayed at the hostel for four weeks and i had the best time! I worked with a wonderful team and i feel so greatful for the amazing people i met working there, both the guests, employees and management. Antigua was the perfect city to stay for a longer time, the city and the hostel quickly felt like home. I did spanish school while volunteering, and Dylan made my schedual so that it fit perfectly with my classes. the work is just as described, very easy to get used to, and whenever i had questions, someone was always around to help. I couldn't be happier with my decision to volunteer!

The hostel feels like a home in the moment you get in. Kayla it's really flexible and she trust me in choosing my own times. I thought it was really sweet. Carla makes amazing breakfast for you and they give you a local meal at night, and 50 Q q for buying stuff for lunch. Beds are comfy and bathroom are super clean . Super recommended
