The Experience
Los voluntarios ayudan con la conservación de la finca, como el mantenimiento de los senderos, cultivos, casa de campo, piscinas de peces, siembra y cosecha de plantas medicinales, ornamentales y frutales y actividades para el desarrollo de la finca. Además, podrás tener contacto con la naturaleza y aprender sobre la cultura local. Tendrás una alimentación sana, con productos orgánicos y platos típicos amazónicos.

Marisol and Luis Octavio treated me like one of the family from the moment I arrived. I was delighted by the positive energy and happiness in the house, including other travelers there. I enjoyed taking part in everyday life from grinding cacao in the kitchen to cooking meals to chatting around the kitchen table. I also enjoyed the work- like learning how to weave leaves for a beautiful thatch roof we helped to build. On my last night there we had a very special experience together doing a cacao ceremony. I'd love to return to explore more of their land, which they are fighting to protect.

I had the BEST experience at the reserve. The Ortega family is incredibly kind and welcoming and I felt right at home. Marisol taught me about indigenous plant based medicine, nutrition, and cooking. The family grows everything from cacao, plantains, bananas, avocados, yuca, tomatoes, mandarin, fresh herbs and soo much more. We used the crops from the farm to cook at home & in the restaurant. Marisol helped me learn how to make artisanal jewelry, purses, and sew clothing. Their nephews & cousins all live nearby and always invited me on trips to waterfalls, rivers, hikes, etc. A great family!

Es una experiencia imperdible!!! Te insertas a vivir en la Selva Ecuatoriana junto a una familia preciosa. En todo momento me sentí acogida, querida y muy respetada. El voluntareado en sí no se siente ya que todo se hace en un ambiente tranquilo y familiar; Siempre estás inserto en plena naturaleza. Aprendes sobre animales, tierra, agua, alimentación, cuidado de la finca. Compartes con los vecinos y niños de la comunidad, lo cuál enriquece el intercambio cultural. Marisol, Luis, Jafet, Brayan y familia son Seres dignos de admirar. Sólo gracias <3
