My experience at Kaparik the reserve was amazing. From day one, they welcomed me like family. The community is warm, the place is special, and the cacao, stories, and connection make it unforgettable. We made crafts, prepared chocolate, and explored beautiful places in Ecuador. The food is delicious and they make you feel completely at home. I'd love to return someday. I truly recommend this experience.

I instantly felt welcome! they are the loveliest family and everyone was so patient with my spanish! i learnt alot about their culture in my short stay. we were fed delicious home cooked meals everyday! Shandia is very beautiful and it's amazing seeing their farmland where bananas and lemons grow! i loved every second and will definitely come back if i was in Ecuador again. thank you for everything :)

I felt welcomed from the very first moment. the place is incredible and the family even more. we shared meals, conversations, we cooked together, went to the river, made handicrafr and they shared so many stories. they are wonderful people. I would heartfully suggest to anyone to come here and enjoy this wonderful experience.

Truly immersive experience in the outskirts of the Amazons. Marisol and Luis are wonderful, kind hosts, offering good work that comes with many strong opportunities to learn. Expect 3 delicious home-cooked meals every day. Be open to huge bugs. 100% recommend.

This was our first volunteering experience and it was amazing!! We felt a part of the family as soon as we arrived and by the end of our stay we didn't want to leave! Marisol, Octavio, Jordan, Dani and the rest of the family are all so welcoming and friendly 💕 I would highly recommend to anyone!

I absolutely loved staying with the Ortega family, they were so friendly and welcoming and despite the language barrier we still managed to communicate in some way. Marisol is an amazing cook, is always happy to help if you need, and patient if you don't speak much Spanish.I really got a true taste of Ecuadorian life and culture which was amazing and I'm so grateful for, and experiencing life near the jungle was like a childhood dream come true! Thank you so much to the Ortega family:)

Living with Marisol and Octavio was an incredible experience i won't ever forget. The genuity and passion driving the Kaparik the reserve can be felt from the arrival. My work started in the morning helping Octavio to build wooden cabañas. My girlfriend instead spent time with Marisol gathering endemic fruits and doing local handcraft. We were always granted delicious food from the farm itself. The other days we were taken to waterfalls, rivers and to spend time in the beautiful amazon forest. Mari and Octavio and the other volonteers made us feel at home and happy. Thanks Kapari ❤️

My friend and I had an amazing time with the family and volunteers. We only stayed about a week but felt that we were included in the family right from the start even despite the language barrier. They are a very warm and welcoming community and you learn a lot there about the culture and land just through observation. I was sick at the beginning of the stay and the mum (Marisol) made me an awesome drink that helped so much in my recovery. They also let me rest and there was no pressure to perform. Sami is a lovely host and her energy and excitement for the projects are infectious.
