I had such a fun time working at the hostel. I worked at the bar, which meant sometimes breakfast shifts which was so easy, and sometimes scanning, hosting games and making drinks, and getting people to come for the pubcrawl. You're with a big volunteering team which can be chaotic but always fun. Watch out, only work here if you love being the hostel and like to drink and party!!

Staying at the hostel for 3 weeks was not enough, so I ended up extending 3 more, that's how good it was. My position was bartending, which includes making drinks, socializing with guests, lead night activities, go for dinner with guests and some pub crawls, and it was the most fun I've had in a while. The owners are amazing and they make you feel at home, the management was impeccable and we had a great time with the rest of the volunteers as well. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants to have some fun and socialize!

Paula is very engaging, helpful, proactive and most of all FUN. No regrets having her, we miss her already, she is already apart of our family, we look forward to see her in the future. We wish her all the best. Love her loads.

The hostel was my first volunteering experience and I benefited greatly from it! I worked at the reception and learnt many new skills. At the front desk I met lots of interesting travellers from around the world, which even resulted in new friendships. The staff members and other volunteers were very helpful, patient and kind, which made me feel part of the team quickly. They were also very flexible, understanding and caring when I fell sick twice. The connections I made there were the highlight of the volunteering, either working or hanging around was fun just because of the company!

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel, which definitely lives up to its name. Was a lot of fun to be a part of a very inclusive and vibrant team. I enjoyed having varied shifts, collaborating with the other volunteers and mingling with the guests when it got busy. You get a lot of perks alongside your shifts which I really appreciated (and definitely made use of haha). Managers are very flexible, have an easy going vibe and will make sure to look after you; they care about your well-being. Georgetown is a nice place to stay and a good spot to explore the rest of Penang.

Volunteering at the hostel was an overall great experience. You sleep in a dorm with 11 other volunteers in a guest house about 5 minutes walk from the hostel, both of which are in a great location and well kept. Georgetown is awesome with lots to do -- I spent a month there and felt this was the perfect amount of time. The tasks are pretty straightforward and easy, and I enjoyed going to work. I find that of all of the tasks, working the evening at the bar seemed to be the task which people became most frustrated with. Besides that, everything went well and I would recommend it!

I was meant to stay only 3 week but I ended up extending it because I felt like home there! I was doing reception and then switch the bar. Tasks are easy. Hours are very clear. Aliff and the rest of the stuff were so welcoming and friendly and making sure all the volunteers and guests having their best time. I made such great connections from all around the world. Thank you for having me dear the hostel family and really hope to see you soon!! 🥰

I was assigned to the reception. My responsibility were doing the check-in, check-out and laundry for the guests. The task were clear enough and the environment were very joyful and welcoming. We, as volunteer, were living in the stuff house, 5 minutes walking from the hostel in a shared dormitory. There were precise rules for keeping the house clean, we had to do 1 house-duty for week, like cleaning the bathroom, kitchen, etc... Overall, a good experience! I would recommend :)

It is a very sociable party hostel so it's a really good place to meet other travelers. Apart from the that, the work can be a bit demanding and more like a real job than a volunteering, which is fine. I just wish some of the team members had a better attitude towards the volunteers, not only regarding friendliness but also support and training, specially during the first shifts. Also, take into consideration that you will be sleeping in the owners' house, in a tight 12 people dorm, where it can be hard to sleep if most people go partying and you have a morning shift.
