The Experience

We live in Glastonbury in a large house with 2/3 acre. Definitely a fun place to visit! We need practical help! People with DIY and building know-how. Upcoming activities include erecting a garden shed, establishing a chicken enclosure, building compost loos and shower block, cutting firewood, weeding and other essential tasks in our lovely garden. You may be in a room in the house or in a bell tent on the land overlooking Paradise Valley!

My Experience at the project was ultimately positive... the food was amazing (Sophie is a wonderful cook and a kind and lovely person), the garden is small but there is always something to do and the hours and days of work are very much flexible! I would 100% recommend this experience, but with some caution to their family businesses which are based on extremist spiritual and alternative beliefs (they do not push any of this onto the volunteers) but it was a bit too much for me - the best way I can put it, is that Glastonbury just isn't for me. I simply should have done more research :)

It was the most confortable place that I've been since I began backpacking. Sophie is always friendly and she really tries to make your experience the best possible. The work is flexible and the food is delicious. They also borrowed me a bicycle so I could ride in Glastonburry, it was fun.

This was my second time staying with Sophie and her family and I enjoyed my time. I was really stressed out at the time about an upcoming exam I needed to take, but Sophie was so very understanding and made me feel at home, letting me stay despite my low physical and mental energy. I appreciate her and her family so much for welcoming me again and being there for me. I got to play with their cats, help out with cooking, and make a bonfire :)

My experience at the project Garden was amazing! Sophie is the kindest person I have ever met, her place is very cozy, I felt really comfortable during my stay. The work hours are flexible and so are the days off. 100% recommended experience. I hope to see you again Sophie! 😁

What an incredible experience :) I felt at home, Sophie is a wonderful person, with a beautiful heart. I helped planting and harvesting vegetables and preparing the beautiful garden for winter. I also helped with social media. All meals were included and I could use the kitchen at any time of the day. I was able to eat many organic vegetables from the garden and Sophie always made sure to have vegan options for me. I stayed in a private room, which was super cozy. The city has a mystical vibe and it's easy to go to nearby cities. I highly recommend the experience, it was an enriching time!!
