Program Details
We are a large loving family working from home with a lot going on. We are all healing therapists also running a lot of online events:-)
A stone's throw from our house we have a plot of 2/3 acre in a beautiful spot called Paradise Valley on the edge of Glastonbury with stunning views across to the Mendips - these are our Paradise Gardens <3
One piece is our vegetable garden with poly tunnel and raised beds and the other which is on a gentle slope needs some terracing and landscaping and then we will plant it with fruit trees. It is also our camping area.
Current projects are clearing, weeding and sowing in our 100% organic no-dig veg garden, cutting fire wood, making 2 compost loos and a sauna/ shower block, building, painting and fixing some sheds.
Right now there are lots of carpentry/diy jobs needed to build the infra structure for our little small holding.
Activities & Shift
Although we ask for between 20-25 hours of help exchange, we are happy to work out shifts and days that work for your needs. You can also do 4 longer days and have 3 days off and other combinations.
Most of the Help needed is on the land and in our much smaller garden that adjoins our house - growing vegetables, weeding and clearing. However we are also really looking for people with good carpentry and DIY skills.
We need people with initiative and we are very open to people's creativity and inspiration too - so please bring all your skills and a keen willingness to work hard and have fun!!
Rules
PLEASE NOTE:
In the past we have unfortunately had a few experiences of people coming to stay with us who really have not contributed very much.
We are really trying to build the infra structure of a sustainable small holding whilst also keeping our family business running.... We really need and appreciate naturally hard working and self motivated people who ENJOY completing all sorts of tasks!
If you are simply looking for free accomodation and you are not motivated to truly offer help PLEASE look for another place!
