The Experience

Hello travellers, We are located in Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica. Mostly, we are looking for volunteers that are willing to be flexible in doing several things. We currently employ five local people who are always happy to help you. We want to have a multicultural, fun-loving and passionate staff. Your help schedule would be very diverse, from helping to clean the guest rooms, to help in reception, to re-painting walls, and the list goes on. Y

We had an amazing time and great first worldpackers experience! I highly recommend a stay at the hotel if you are looking to connect with nature and meet lots of other travelers. We saw more animals around the property than we did when we went to the national park. The location is between Quepos and Manuel Antonio so will be a little ways away from any near stores recommend taking local buses or if you're looking for some exercise Quepos is in walking distance! The hostel and hotel run fully on volunteers we were lucky to have such an amazing group! Over all a great experience.

This was our first WorkdPackers experience and it was absolutely amazing. The people are so sweet and the hours were exactly as expected. The work was hard at times, but other times is was very easy. We always had access to good food and got to see some awesome animals while staying there. The accommodations are simple but they provided us with the necessities. This could be a little difficult for someone who doesn't speak Spanish. Overall had an amazing experience! Would def come again :)

I really liked my time at the hotel. The place is truly beautiful and the nature was crazy. I was able to see so many animals. Besides that the working atmosphere was good and the work really wasn't hard. Our the accommodation was nice and there was always more than enough food for us volunteers (you could also wish for things). All in all I can just recommend the place if you want to get to know this beautiful and somewhat quieter part of Costa Rica. :)

Zero Managment Volunteers are 95% most of the time left themselves for this hotel + hostel Zero Organisation On the last 3 days , the American owner came for a week : a really evil man. Sunday morning , I tried my best to rescue a poor animal laying in a horrible condition next to a customers room, I called a rescue center to pick the animal 30min later , He told me “to let it die “. The hour later the owner tells me that I am kicked of the hotel because “i did let enter someone on his private property” He also speaks about local people in such a disrespectful way …

Though your emotional response to an injured animal is appreciated, we had a difference of opinion regarding viable options. Nevertheless, we continue to value all flora and fauna in Costa Rica.

We wish you the best on your future travels.

I had a great month exploring this amazing part of Costa Rica. Groceries are bought for the volunteers weekly so you are never required to spend a penny during your stay. I only worked at planet B Hostel not at the hotel. The manager is reasonable and efficient but I do feel like planet B could use more direct management as it's staffed only by volunteers and conditions change depending on who is working. As long as everybody does their part it can be quite a nice hostel. I think if you can take responsibility and have some experience with customer service the work is quite manageable and fun.
