Hotel BongO
Hello, Worldpackers!
Welcome to our unique hotel, located at the edge of the jungle between Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to experience the diverse beauty of Costa Rica. As a volunteer, you’re guaranteed to see monkeys, enjoy breathtaking hikes to hidden beaches, and participate in our game nights!
We are a popular hotel and take pride in providing excellent service to our guests from around the world. During the high season (November to May), we are often fully booked, so there is no shortage of tasks! However, we always make time for fun and encourage volunteers to share their talents and ideas with us. If you have something special in mind, we would love to hear about it! Typical volunteer tasks include housekeeping, reception, laundry, painting, and gardening.
Volunteers are expected to work five days a week. Each shift lasts either five hours or six hours with a one-hour break (resulting in five hours of active work). You will have two consecutive days off each week, and your days off generally remain consistent. We require a minimum commitment of four weeks, and priority is given to those who can stay longer.
As a volunteer, you’ll enjoy perks such as vegetarian meals, dorm-style accommodation with comfortable mattresses and linens (private rooms are available for couples), full access to the pool open 24/7, on-site laundry facilities, discounts on tours when possible, and the beauty of the Costa Rican jungle! We will provide more than enough food for three meals a day; however, if you prefer items like cheese or meat, you will need to purchase those yourself.
Please note that tasks may include, but are not limited to, housekeeping, gardening, reception, maintenance, and food preparation. Due to the needs of our guests, a proficient level of English is required for reception work. If you speak additional languages such as German or French, that is a plus! We will still consider your application if you are learning English, and we offer an environment to help you develop your language skills; however, your shifts may be limited to housekeeping and general maintenance tasks.
Please remember that the property is non-smoking and non-vaping.
If this opportunity sounds like a good fit for you, please tell us a bit about yourself and your skills. We look forward to hearing from you!
Pura Vida!
Each dorm accommodates 2 to 5 people.
We have limited private rooms for couples.
Towels and bedding are provided with machine laundry on-site.
There is a shared kitchen for all volunteers. We provide plenty of vegetarian food to be prepared. Any other specialties such as meat will need to be purchased by yourself .
Volunteers share their workplace and the community with local Tico people. You can learn/practice your Spanish and seek to understand more about local ways of living. We hope volunteers can create a warm and welcoming space for all.
In your free time, there are tons of things to do and see! The bus to Manuel Antonio is only 10 minutes and there you’ll find popular beaches, restaurants, and the famous Manuel Antonio National Park. Right outside our property are networks of hiking trails to Playa La Macha and other destinations. Quepos is also a short bus or walk to get any additional groceries/goodies you may want.
