The Experience

In this role you would be tasked with managing our guest Whatsapp chat as well as taking guests out and about through Edinburgh. Looking for someone active and outgoing and able to generate a fun group environment. Someone eager to meet and converse with travellers from around the world. In addition to leading events, you will also help us in cleaning the hostel.

That's already my second review for the hostel because there's no choice but coming back after a first time there ! the hostel is a home for every volunteer and is a unforgettable experience. All the volunteers are beautiful souls and the hostel is the coziest and funniest place to stay. From the easy work to the super fun activities we organize all together. Every single day was so special and will stay in my heart. It was my second stay and I will keep coming back as much as I can. A big thank you to everyone for making this place so heartwarming I miss it already so much.

It was a fantastic experience! The work was easy and flexible. The team worked together in a very organized way, and everyone was highly responsible. After finishing our tasks, we had plenty of free time and all kinds of different activities. It truly felt like one big family — everyone was so kind and friendly. I met such wonderful people here, learned so many new skills, and grew a lot as a person. I'm really, really reluctant to leave.:)🧡☀️

This was my first volunteering experience through Worldpackers and I had a great time. the hostel has 10+ volunteers and staff who were incredibly friendly as soon as I arrived and integrated me into daily hostel events. The work schedule was clear and as described, and the shifts vary between mornings and evenings which enables plenty of time to explore Edinburgh. the hostel has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere and is ideally located in Haymarket (a 25-minute walk to the busy old town and great transport links elsewhere). This is my second experience and from the beginning I felt so welcomed by the staff and the crew. The schedule was very well structured and clear. The workhours was perfect and shifted so you had time to do different things at different times. There was a bunch of activities to do at the hostel and also in the city of Edinburgh. It is located perfectly by the trainstation and close to everything. I developed my understanding of the world and different cultures and made friends for life. This felt like a second home and so I extended my stay. I will definitely return as soon as I can!!!
