I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel Guest House! João the owner is an amazing and kind man. The work was just as expected and the employed staff were wonderful to work with and very helpful when explaining how everything works. The only room for improvement was the cleanliness of our volunteer area and "well loved" boards and wetsuits. But to be fair with around eight to nine people there at the same time it's hard keeping everything tidy if not everybody helps out a little bit. Tofu the cat is an absolute cutie :)

I stayed in the hotel for 10 days My stayed was fast but very special, i meet wonderful people and we're able to do some surfing. Even when the car was not working Joao offered hims on time to time, I would appreciate to have a bike to move around when ever the car was not working, and also a bit more of integration with the team from part of the management. Everything else was fantastic

My experience at the hotel was wonderful, met some great people and fell in love with the area, definitely recommend! Would be nice to have a partner when cleaning, that was the only downside!

İts a nice first volunteering experience because of working 4 hours of day for 5 days a week and mainly because of the other volunteers that makes you feel like the hotel is your home after some time but of course there is some cons like not getting a real breakfast its just bread and chesse basically and the rooms are not shown in the images but you are staying as 5 and they are basically dorm rooms i can say and its not a problem also but i think they should have added it to the images but even with this things im so happy about choosing the hotel for my first volunteering

All in all it was a good experience but there where a few things that could be improved. To begin with I think the work itself and the hours where as described on here and fair but it can get a bit exhausting. The area around Aljezur and especially the beaches there are amazing and truly sooo beautiful and great for surfing. They provide lots of wetsuits which are in good conditions but only two working surfboard ,which are in quite bad shape. What was great is that we got some basic food and a car with petrol to get around, but the housing is kinda dirty and in bad shape.

Not everything was perfect (volunteer area was dirty) but I can recommend this experience. Work is not difficult and in the afternoon/evening you have time just for chill (it is possible to use the pool) or for exploring places. You can use the car (I expected also bikes but they are not usable)

The hotel is a good place to meet other volunteers who come from elsewhere. The big negative point for me is that no one welcomes us when we arrive. It's the other volunteers who look for you and show you around the place. It's frankly a factory, I found that very unfortunate and I think it breaks the atmosphere that we are basically looking for: discovery and sharing. The work is hard, but the schedules are always respected, they are still very demanding with us. I would recommend the hotel just for the place with Arrifana beach.

The hotel truly provides everything you could possibly need. From an old car to bedding, food and surfboards(which aren't in perfect condition but usable), there isn't anything missing. I started out cleaning which could be a lot of work for 4 hours on some days. I enjoyed breakfast more, because of my previous experiences of working in gastronomy. Plus the reception and kitchen staff are so nice and always very helpful. Cleaning staff was nice as well but they spoke only spanish at times thus instructions weren't clear. I'm very grateful for this fun experience and the friends I made here :)

I really enjoyed my time at the hotel because of the group that was there at the time. Breakfast is pretty limited but there's always bread, ham and cheese and some other things which was nice. And I really appreciated having a car just for the volunteers to use. Surfings pretty difficult with 10 volunteers and just 2 boards but we made do and still had a lot of fun. The work was definitely not fun but was manageable and only 4 hour shifts with a 15 minute break so not too bad.

I had a great time at the hotel, if you want a more relaxing volunteering and surfing this is the place. That being said me and the other volunteers had the impression this would be more of a hostel vibe instead its a guesthouse where you do not interact with others. The volunteer group is always big of around 10 people and thats great, I got really close to all of them, but some people stay even just 1 week so its fast changing. The surfboards and wetsuits are not in great conditions. We had 2 surfboards which we made work and used others wetsuits, in general things can imporve but i was happy.
