I would recommend, great if u want to learn how to surf , work isn't hard, hours are respected, and I had a great time with other volunteers.

I worked at the place for about 3 weeks in January/February. It has a lot of volunteering. As we live in a small village but can use the car, we went to Arrifana Beach after work to go surfing etc. Sometimes we cooked together in the evening and let the evening fade away in a relaxed atmosphere. It was low season, so we had plenty of time to relax. Portugal. A truly magical place.

I have really good time in the hotel. You are really working since 10:30 to 14:30 it isn't something hard. Everyone is really nice and always trying to find a solution for every problem or anything. We always get a breakfast. We can also use a car to get on beach. Thank you I will come back!

João and everyone here made the guest house a place I look forward to returning to. Everyone was so welcoming and hospitable, and by the time my I was done with my stay here, I was already making plans to come back. This was my first World Packers trip, and I think it may have been the best one I could have taken. The jobs were easy, the food was great, and I was able to practice surfing almost every day. Along with that, I met friends and made memories I will never forget. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether you're experienced with solo traveling or ready to try it out!

Overall I enjoyed my experience at the hotel, the people and the memories made it worth it. I was disappointed by the lack of useable bikes and broken facilities and I hope that these will be fixed for the future.

I cannot recommend this host. While the team is friendly and Tofu the cat is lovely, volunteer conditions are unacceptable. Facilities are in disrepair—broken doors, stoves, beds, and rusty or missing items - the list goes on. Safety is overlooked during maintenance tasks, and the provided car is unsafe, avoided even by staff. Surfboards were removed from the listing after I booked (also broken). Additionally, cleaning water is dumped on plants, trash separation is superficial, and lights are left on all night, reflecting poor environmental practices and a lack of respect for volunteers.

My time in the hotel was very very good especially for the fascinating and passionate people I met there. The staff is friendly, especially Belén and Bárbara who deal the most with the volunteers, they are wonderful and supportive <3 The tasks are clear, straightforward and the schedules are respected. If you are planning to work remotelly the internet connection in Aljezur area is not the best, even with hotspot, so I would suggest you have a plan B or C. The hotel has a really nice, chill, surfy romantic vibe. The pool was a plus for me. Thank you for the experience (:

Utopía was a great experience for getting in touch with nature and creating connections with people from all across the world. For those who are looking to learn how to surf and be in a relaxed environment, Utopía is a great spot to volunteer. Arrifana is an incredible beach and we never got bored of visiting day to day. The workload was manageable and the staff were very friendly. We had a few issues with the car and there was a period it could not be used, but this was fixed relatively fast. I hope for there to be no issues with it for future volunteers :)

The hotel is magical. A rather remote place, where you are able to find true peace and true friendships. The team is amazing, welcoming and joyful. The work was totally manageable! The only little con is the current living situation. The area for the volunteers is a bit too small for ten volunteers but I am sure that this will be improved! Everyone was very caring and made sure that the experience was as amazing as i was. Thanks for everything! I will miss that place 🫶🏻🌊

This experience was super fun and the work was super chill!! Only 4 hours a day, and everyone is finished by 2:30pm, so it's great to be able to spend time w the other volunteers. Keep in mind that there is a cat and dog at the guest house, super cute but not great for allergies, and the guest house is a bit isolated, luckily we were able to use a car but the bikes were broken. Most things that are offered to the volunteers are not in working condition, and the volunteer space is very nice and away from the guests but gets quite dirty. Overall super fun and social though, perfect for 2 weeks.
