The Experience

Hi I'm Jo. I'm an artist and I'd like to spend more time focused on my painting. Steve would also like to spend less time worrying about our dogs and gardening. So we're looking for a companion to contribute to the smooth running of our household and give us more of a flexible lifestyle. This will involve some cleaning, looking after our dogs, Otto and Neo, and helping out with the everyday stuff that needs doing in the (big) garden.

What a wonderful family! The work was well explained, varied, sometimes challenging, but always rewarding—the home and Steve truly appreciate it. They make sure you have everything you need, the food is amazing, and the trips to nearby towns were a great bonus. Dinner conversations were inspiring and I learned a lot from their experiences. The house and grounds are beautiful. the home is very knowledgeable—she taught me how to build a compost heap and gave me great gardening advice. Steve is hardworking and gives clear, helpful instructions. Thank you both for making me feel so welcome.

Staying with the home Steve was an AMAZING experience in every way. They were both very kind and respectful to me and the other volunteer. They were also very involved in helping us learn different kinds of skills while we were working. Lovely house and lovely family — 100% recommended. I really liked that them and one of their sons worked with us every day. ❤️

The home Steve were wonderful hosts that were extremely accommodating and made my first worldpacker experience unforgettable and the best I could ask for. The work was various, and some days it was hard and some days easy. I learned so much about gardening, composting, living sustainably, quiet rural farm life, landscaping, and how to use many farm tools. I would hope any Worldpackers reading this dont get the idea that it will be easy--as long as you work hard, have ambition, and have regard for others and their things, this will be for you like it was for me--the best I could ask for.

The home Steve were so lovely to me. I really enjoyed the time that I spent with them. The job wasn't so light, because it's summer time and there's a lot of things to do. But the home Steve always respected my working hours and were always trying to make sure that I was enjoying the job and learning from it. It's not that easy to go to other places around, because the house is far away, but the home Steve took me to a lot of different places and cities. I had a really nice cultural experience, with live concerts and art galleries. And the food was really good! It's a real luck to be chosen by them

This was one of the best expiriences I had in my life! the home steve are really nice persons with a HUGE heart. They are a lovely couple and is really nice to hang out with them. The job is really cool and you will learn a lot about gardening, the work can be little hard sometimes but they won't give you any task you can't handle. They make so much efford to make volunteers feel good and comfortable... They will take you out to explore places, give you a great bedroom to stay, good food (really good food) and you will learn a lot about sustentabilty, wich is great!!!

Thank you for such a lovely review, Lucas. We enjoyed having you to stay and your enthusiasm and energy. Thank you, both, for all the hard work you put into the two weeks - it wasn't the most enjoyable weather for WPS! But neither of you ever complained. Let us know how you get on with your next adventure.

We're looking forward to seeing your video and seeing you become an international social media sensation!
