If you're considering volunteering at GVS, go for it 100%!! You will be so welcomed and included from the beginning. The teaching is a lot of fun, of course it's not without its challenges, but Kyle is so supportive. Living in the village you learn so much about Khmer culture and the kids are so keen to show you around. GVS was the best two months of my life, I can't wait to return.

My experience at GVS was beyond my expectations. I spent two months there and had the best time. The kids are exceptional, and it's inspiring to see how much they want to learn. GVS is more than an English the school. It is a beautiful community filled with dreams, friendship, support, and love. Also, the family, Kyle, and the locals will make you feel at home from day one. I am so grateful for my time there. I highly recommend coming to GVS, as you'll experience a complete immersion in Cambodian culture while teaching and making memories with amazing kids and teens.

I had an absolutely incredible time volunteering at GVS for 2 months experiencing every aspect of Cambodian village life, from the delicious home cooked meals to a pagoda blaring chanting at 6am. Chiva and his family and Kyle are so welcoming and alongside the kids they creat not just an amazing the school but a wonderful community that I felt instantly accepted into with no hesitation. The work here that Chiva has been doing for years is massively important in giving kids from the surrounding villages the education and the opportunities that city kids get so I really hope you choose to go.

My time at VS was beyond exceptional! The kids are super kind, welcoming and eager to learn. They're also very interested in learning about the volunteers and where we come from. Chiva and Kyle are also exceptional. Kyle pours his heart and soul into the the school and I could really see his impact. Chiva is super welcoming and the kids look up to him. If youre lucky they will take you on sweet adventures. We had an amazing stay with chiva and his family, his wife Somnang is very kind and his 2yr old daught is adorable! Thank you Kyle and Chiva! we will miss our second home deeply :)

Volunteering here was truly a fulfilling experience. I had an amazing time in this small village. I had the opportunity to teach English to 250 kids, and it was incredibly rewarding to see their enthusiasm for learning. They were so warm and they always had a million questions for you. There was never ever a dull moment. Staying with Chiva and his family was also a highlight. They were incredibly welcoming and made me feel like a part of their family, kyle included. You get to immerse yourself in their culture and I'm so grateful for this experience and would highly recommend it to anyone.

To be in rural Cambodia in a place where foreigners barely exist and to meet a flock of teens that are fluent in English and ready to ask you a million questions is as rare and inspiring as it sounds. The work of this the school has helped propel generations of locals into the adult world armed with a strong conversational grasp on English. I was welcomed by the students, host and other volunteers and literally felt at home within days. I see myself coming back to teach or simply visit and see the students progress and celebrate things like the Khmer new year. So grateful for this experience🙏

Our time at GVS has been the most phenomenonal experience. We were welcomed into Chiva's home & family with open arms. The kids at the the school are incredible. It is hard work, but it is so incredibly rewarding that you really don't mind. These kids are very keen to learn & love the volunteers with their whole hearts. You can't help but love them in return. The home is basic, but has everything you need. The food is so very good, & the iced coffee from the store is amazing. GVS is going to be a place we hold very dear & we will definitely be returning. This place is making a real difference.

This was an amazing experience. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. Theres no AC, no hot water, not the most comfortable mattress, you stay right next to the the school. It's hard, but that's what makes it so much more immersive and so worth it. You get free rein to pick which classes, ages, and lessons you teach. The kids are all so awesome and want to be there. Chiva (the principal) has a wonderful life story and was very helpful for anything I needed. 10/10 would do this again!
