The last 5 weeks have been nothing short of amazing. RMB has truly been my home away from home. It's small and cozy, the people are inclusive, and the workload is distributed fairly. To go from not intending to travel further north at all during this trip to be given the chance to live on the hostel and have time off to see the rest of Scotland was inconceivable to me just over a month ago. But I'm so glad I decided to apply for this position. I'm so fortunate to have had this as my first volunteering experience and I'm going to miss the whanau and environment of RMB. Ngā mihi nui.

My time at RMB was one of the best experiences of my life. It was my first time volunteering in a hostel, and now my standards are really high! ;) The hostel is very cozy, and everyone there is so welcoming. Jack and Kat/Billie are amazing managers, they respect your working hours and genuinely want you to have the best experience. It felt like a home away from home. With only 14 hours of work per week, there's plenty of time to explore the city. The other volunteers are super friendly and open minded, you'll fit in right away. I'm so sad to leave. I highly recommend RMB. Thanks for everything

RMB is a really special hostel. It makes you feel comfortable and at home from the very beginning. The work is completely manageable, and the hours are more than fair. You'll have plenty of time to explore the city. Jack and Kat are great managers and make everything really easy. All the volunteers I met here were incredibly nice, fun and friendly. I'll always remember my time here with a lot of love, thanks for everything 🌟

This was my first WP experience and it was lovely. It's so easy to meet new people and make friends. You can spend your days on your own, or with the other volunteers. I highly recommend taking a few extra hours to get more days off and taking a trip to their sister hostels or the highlands. RMB is such a cosy and welcoming place. You'll never be bored and Ediburgh is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the world (my rec: Dunbar's Close Garden and Ceilidh). The work is not hard and fair but make sure to ask if you need help. Thanks for the great time, I am going to miss you!

I loved my time at RMB. Kat and Jack are the best hosts, they made me feel super welcome and at home and always were clear about the work and expectations. The work is very straight forward and the hours are respected. You are flexible within the volunteers to change shifts as well. The hostel is cozy and really well located to explore Edinburgh. I'd definitely recommend this experience <3

My Best Worldpackers Experience! Volunteering at the hostel was truly special! The shifts are respected and flexibl - if you have any inconvenience, it's possible to change your schedule with someone else - and the job isn't hard. Jack and Kate are lovely managers, they're always there if you need any help and maintain open communication. I had a wonderful time and the best Scottish experience. Couldn't recommend it more!

I highly recommend RMB Hostel! The place is small and cozy, but also offers a lot of activities for guests and volunteers so you'll never get bored. The job is easy and the hours are respected, you work 14 hours a week and you get trained when introduced to a new task, also the week schedule is quite flexible so you'll be able to arrange your work efficiently to enjoy this amazing city at its fullest. The volunteers stay in their own 8 people mixed dorm. The atmosphere is great and, with the hostel being small, you can easily build relationships with the other volunteers and guests as well :)
