The experience began positively in Hotel the guest house, preparing breakfast, cleaning rooms, etc. I then did DIY work after this, refurbishing doors and chairs. The negatives came in interactions with Alex (the host). He struggles with open, direct and respectful communication, with expectations and rules often fluctuating. Once when volunteers were cooking dinner, Alex demanded we stop cooking, that we were not entitled to cook now - we were told to prepare lunch from ingredients provided. Alex threatened to call the police and said he would make me leave “by kicks and punches”.

Volunteering at the B&B in Florence was an amazing experience! The tasks were simple and well-organized, leaving plenty of time to explore the city. The location is perfect, close to all the tourist attractions, making each day a new adventure. The team is incredibly welcoming, kind, and patient, making you feel at home from day one. Plus, the food is fantastic, with delicious breakfast and lunch provided. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic experience in Florence!

It is ideal for travelers who wanna to spend some quiet time. The place has only a few rooms, the job is easy and they provide good food and nice room (no bunk beds!). Pros: It is a calm place, amazing kitchen if you like to cook, you can practice your Spanish (they are Argentinians), food freshly made everyday, easy work and routine, nice location outside the touristic area. German (the manager) is a really nice and sweet guy, respectful and flexible. Cons: The schedule is made day by day which makes hard to book things in advance, but they can be really flexible with your day offs.
