This was my first experience with Worldpackers, and it couldn't have been better! Intense immersion in lush nature and a relaxed work routine that mainly involved feeding the trout and cleaning the tanks. Beyond that connection with the environment, I was able to dive into Mexican culture through Fabián and Belén's family, who prepared delicious meals and showed exceptional hospitality. I am immensely grateful to Manuel and his family for this amazing project and for opening their doors so volunteers can gain a close understanding of the importance of nature.

Manuel and his family manage various trout farms so most of the time will be spent with the family working on the farm. I had a great experience with Ariz and Alex taking care of the trout farm and the garden. Knowing Spanish helped a lot in my case. I would definitely come back!

My experience with the reserve was HORRIBLE. I was supposed to teach English to teenagers within the community but when I got there that didn't happen. Instead I was cleaning A LOT (fish tanks, dishes, etc) around the farm. And my room where I slept was filthy, stinky and extremely cold (leaking toilet & dirty beds). The food was mediocre. The family I stayed was okay but its was very challenging for us both because I don't speak fluent Spanish and they don't speak English at all. When I spoke to Citlali (host) about the issues, she told she had “10,000 meetings to attend” Very terrible.

My experience was fantastic, I did 28 days with them and I enjoyed every day. There are several jobs to do so you won't be doing the same thing every day. Some days the work was pretty easy, other days the work was quite heavy, but I'm sure the host will have you doing what you're capable of doing. I worked with Fabian and Belen, who are both a very hard working couple who lead by example and extremely easy to get along with. This place is definitely for the nature enthusiast and I would 100% recommend it to anyone! Thank you so much!
