I originally planned to volunteer at the hostel for one month, but I loved it so much I extended my stay! The experience was incredible, thanks to the amazing team—Kris, Neri, and Diana—who are organized, supportive, and make you feel appreciated. I stayed at the Calle Loíza location, which was perfect—close to beaches, great restaurants, and San Juan's vibrant energy. The manageable schedule gave me plenty of time to explore Puerto Rico. the hostel's laid-back vibe, friendly community, and unbeatable location made this one of my best experiences. Highly recommend!

Diana + Neri + Krys = A squad. Professional, approachable, reasonable, sharp, and overall lovely ladies of leadership. I choose PR to brush up on my Spanish. I did not enhance my skills as much as I had wished but the opportunity is there if you are disciplined. Reception tasks are meticulous but easy. The hostel itself was beautiful, fun, and clean. I was always making new friends and never felt unsafe. At first the location at Isla Verde can seem daunting being next to the highway, however, explore and you will find it is quite central and convenient. No cons. I would return.

This was a very great experience, all of the staff and other volunteers were super kind and the hostel is in a really good location. The work and hours were as agreed beforehand and the facility has everything you need.

I had an amazing time at the hostel! The staff is absolutely incredible and they made me feel like I was at home. As an avid traveler who studied management at university, it was nice to see and learn how a successful hotel/hostel works. I highly recommend this experience for those eager to learn more about management/hospitality, practice their Spanish, meet people from around the world, and be within walking distance of the beach. It's quite easy to keep busy in your free time by exploring the different neighborhoods that makeup San Juan, finding new beaches, meeting locals, and going out.

I stayed at the hostel for 3 months, I planned on staying for 6-8 weeks but I just never felt like leaving! I think it's a great hostel to volunteer at, no matter which of the 2 locations you stay at, it has everything you need, and you're free to visit the other location. Only thing that I can think of is that the location I was at can be quite calm. While I hung out with some guests during my stay, a lot of days there weren't really any people hanging around the common areas. This is not a negative point and was easily solved by joining Facebook groups, classes and apps to meet people!

We want to thank Nikki for all her hard work, dedication and enthusiasm during her time with us. She has a patient and friendly demeaner that made her great to interact with our guests. She's organized, respectful, very easy to get along with and was always willing to help in any other duties necessary. We thank you for contributing to our hostel's success during those months.
Nikki, you are always welcome at Nomada and we wish you the best of luck in all of your travels!

I have a million amazing things to say about my experience with the hostel. First of all, the facility itself is very well kept and organized. The reception job was very fun and a great way to meet people from all over the world. (Thank you to Sara for training me!!!!) The hours were very fair and simple. I made amazing memories with guests and developed great connections. San Juan has lots to do and it was fun exploring with friends. Special thank you to Neri, Ever, Sara, Diana, Henry, and everyone else who made my experience incredible. I want to return, I love my the hostel family :)

I loved staying at the hostel! I had so much fun with my fellow volunteers and also with the guests. The work is easy and the hours are not to many, so I had a lot of time to explore the island aswell. I also loved that I could go visit the other location.

Overall, my experience was positive, and I would recommend it. The property requires 20 hours of reception work, four five-hour shifts per week, in exchange for free housing (very reasonable). The Isla Verde location is just a 2-minute walk from the beach and has a pool. However, the hostel isn't as social as others I've stayed at, and I distinctly felt like an exchange employee, given that most of the staff is local & paid rather than volunteer. I sought an opportunity to meet new people and I primarily achieved this by making friends with guests, which the other employees didn't do much.

The hostel was a welcoming space that prioritizes cleanliness and guest satisfaction. During my stay, I enjoyed interacting with guests and learning to use the property management software. Exploring the hostel's operations was a valuable learning experience. Thanksgiving there felt like being part of a warm, embracing family. For an enriching Worldpackers stay in San Juan, this place with its exceptional staff is highly recommended and I would definitely come back again !

For my first Worldpackers experience, the hostel set the bar really high. Neri along with other staff such as Diana, Henry and Sara we're super awesome and excepting, and always willing to assist with anything I may have needed; from learning how to use the computer at reception, to putting the washing machine on the right settings, they were always super helpful. The location was also amazing and super close to a lot of local beaches, bars, and restaurants and the locals were super cool as well, and always willing to show me around.
