The hostel was my first work exchange experience and it was great! Everyone was super welcoming, made me feel at home right away and created a fun environment. The work itself was really doable and made it easy to meet people from all over the world. We had to work 20 hours a week which gave me a lot of time to explore and hangout at the hostel. Neri, Krys and Henry were incredible and I am really happy I got to know them. The hostel was really nice, super close to the beach and I spent a lot of my time walking around and exploring the city! Overall, it was a amazing experience

Khrys is an awesome manager and is more like a friend to the volunteers. The work itself is very laidback and enjoyable. The shifts are very flexible as well. Best thing about this assignment is definitely the location! It is located in the super walkable area of San Juan. You can get to all the best spots around the metropolitan area from here! Also it is located on a very artsy cool strip where you can find great food, cool bars and local shopping. This is also a street away from Ocean Park beach and a 10 minute stroll from the beaches of Condado. I extended also, recommend!

Krys was one of the best managers I have ever had, she leads in a very respectful and inclusive way. I was constantly given opportunities to grow and learn more about the culture and country while I was at the hostel. The workload was very doable, and the location is fantastic to immerse yourself in the culture of a busy Puerto Rican city. The other volunteers were fantastic to connect with and were just as happy and excited to experience this in community. This experience was unforgettable, thank you so much the hostel team for helping me feel safe and welcome in this city.

I absolutely adored my time at the hostel. Diana, Neri, and Krys all were incredible women who I am so grateful to have gotten to work with and know. They create an extremely supportive and respectful environment that I was so happy to be apart of. They were always there to help in whatever ways they could and I always felt so happy and supported there! Truly one of the best experiences of my life!

From the moment I got there, I felt so welcomed— Neri and Diana are incredible and super friendly. The other volunteers made it even better; we became like a little family, working together, exploring Puerto Rico, and just vibing. Puerto Rico itself is unreal—the beaches, the music, the energy. There's something about this place that just makes you feel alive. Some of my favorite memories were just hanging out by the pool, meeting people from all over the world, and just exploring San Juan. You'll meet amazing people, have the best time, and probably never want to leave!

Beautiful hostel with two locations one very clean with a private bathroom for volunteers, the other more local but often needing maintenance w/ bug issues. The exchange felt more like work-for-stay, with little effort from management to create a cultural experience. Only 1 group activity in my 3 months stay, but the other volunteers made it fun by organizing our own outings. Hours shifted midway, but I shared feedback and management like Diana and krys were open to improvement. Shoutout to kind staff like Henry, Jolene, and Elizabeth!!

I had a great time at Nómada. I do truly feel like the experience was able to help me connect with the local culture and learn about Puerto Rico but that's also because I put the effort into doing so. I loved the friends I made at Nómada and I feel that I'll be friends with them for a while. The work load was as expected and often times less than 20 hours per week. I don't think I even worked 20 hours at any point. At times management seemed a little disorganized and that sometimes lead to confusion with hours etc but once things were cleared up it was great!

I had a wonderful time volunteering at the hostel, meeting amazing people and contributing to a welcoming environment for guests. However, after almost five months, I was asked to leave via text on the same day, with no prior warning or conversation. This was due to a misunderstanding with another volunteer, and it caused me a lot of stress and frustration as I had to find a place to stay last minute. The team later apologized, but it was too late by then. This is simply a warning not a discouragement to anyone.

My time at the hostel was/is great- from the property, volunteer living conditions, and work tasks! The work amount is very fair. The volunteer space is nice and clean. I feel very comfortable in the environment. Neri, Krys, and Diana are welcoming and respectful. I have done work exchange in other hostels in Puerto Rico and this has definitely been my favorite. They are very flexible and understanding. I signed up for one month, was able to leave for two weeks and return for an extended stay. I would definitely recommend!

We have greatly enjoyed having Morgan on our team and would recommend her to any other volunteer experience!
She is organized, responsible, detail-oriented with a great personality!
She understands the assignments in reception and is a fast learner, overall a well rounded person!
Morgan, thank you for staying with us and come back whenever you want! :)

I had a wonderful time at the hostel! The environment was very welcoming and everyone was friendly. I easily made friends with the other volunteers and it's a small hostel so I got to know a few of the guests as well. Krys was so helpful during training, she explained everything in detail until I felt comfortable with all the reception tasks. I'm so sad my time at the hostel has come to an end, but I'm beyond grateful for the amazing experience!
