Nomada Urban Beach Hostel

All traveler, volunteer or staff member gets the opportunity to interact with people from all around the world at our hostel. Puerto Rico is rich in history, nature, infrastructure, music, art, and others. By staying at our location people will be able to define what is the real local lifestyle, expose to the Spanish language, cultural music, and dance, discover other places starting from the coast, and drive into the nature that makes PR Enchant Island.

Currently, there are three volunteers, two employees for the reception, and two for housekeeping. Volunteers can be expected to be treated like family as long as the rules are respected. Volunteers are given 50% off most of the items we have for sale. If you ever want to discover parts of Puerto Rico I can always be of help and if you have any questions. If you are trying to move to Puerto Rico as well I can be almost a mentor and assist you with how things work here. Also, anything above the 20-hour requirement you will be paid. **We have any 8 week requirement minimum**

Krys was one of the best managers I have ever had, she leads in a very respectful and inclusive way. I was constantly given opportunities to grow and learn more about the culture and country while I was at Nomada. The workload was very doable, and the location is fantastic to immerse yourself in the culture of a busy Puerto Rican city. The other volunteers were fantastic to connect with and were just as happy and excited to experience this in community. This experience was unforgettable, thank you so much Nomada team for helping me feel safe and welcome in this city.

Beautiful hostel with two locations one very clean with a private bathroom for volunteers, the other more local but often needing maintenance w/ bug issues. The exchange felt more like work-for-stay, with little effort from management to create a cultural experience. Only 1 group activity in my 3 months stay, but the other volunteers made it fun by organizing our own outings. Hours shifted midway, but I shared feedback and management like Diana and krys were open to improvement. Shoutout to kind staff like Henry, Jolene, and Elizabeth!!

I had a great time at Nómada. I do truly feel like the experience was able to help me connect with the local culture and learn about Puerto Rico but that’s also because I put the effort into doing so. I loved the friends I made at Nómada and I feel that I’ll be friends with them for a while. The work load was as expected and often times less than 20 hours per week. I don’t think I even worked 20 hours at any point. At times management seemed a little disorganized and that sometimes lead to confusion with hours etc but once things were cleared up it was great!

I absolutely adored my time at Nomada. Diana, Neri, and Krys all were incredible women who I am so grateful to have gotten to work with and know. They create an extremely supportive and respectful environment that I was so happy to be apart of. They were always there to help in whatever ways they could and I always felt so happy and supported there! Truly one of the best experiences of my life!
