Volunteering at the the guest house was an amazing first Worldpacker experience for me and my friend. Lewis was a very welcoming and friendly host, who made sure that we had enough time to really explore the nature around Kinlochleven. Even though it is a small village, it is wonderful if you enjoy hiking and exploring nature. We had some great recommendations by Lewis on which routes to take to get the best views. Beyond that, the volunteering work was pretty easy and always amazingly explained. All in all, me and my friend had a great time at Lewis' the guest house and would greatly recommend it! :)

Besides Lewis being one of the funniest people I've met, he was also a welcoming and very caring host. The work was manageable and easy to do, and we had a lot of free time for ourselves. Kinlochleven is quite small but the nature in and around this town is truly stunning and Lewis was happy to recommend us some good hiking routes. This was my first Worldpacker and volunteer experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

I spend 2 weeks at the the guest house and had a beautiful time there. Lewis is a chill and caring host, very funny as well. I felt very comfortable in the apartment and had my own room with a beautiful view on the mountains. The work in the the guest house was very reasonable and easy to do, I had lots of free time. I recommend this experience to everyone who wants to hike & connect with nature and themselves at a peaceful place. Kinlochleven and its surroundings are absolutely beautiful.

The most stunning location perfect for adventurous souls but to be honest, I would not recommend. If you are not comfortable living with a man that drinks copious amounts and has questionable methods of teaching, I would not recommend this experience. I was gutted to leave early as truly loved Kinlochleven but the living situation became uncomfortable and scary at times.

Very enjoyable stay! The shower is very difficult to maneuver, I would really suggest just taking a shower. You'll be busy from 9-12 cleaning the rooms, but also be scheduled from 2-9 as a greeter. You'll likely be occupied from 2-4 checking people in and setting tables, but could be busy until 9 if there are late check ins. If you don't get off until 9, you can't make dinner, as there's no cooking after 9. I found this rule arbitrarily and unevenly applied to different Worldpackers. I received a verbal lashing. That being said, by the end of our stay I would say we were friends with Lewis.

I really enjoyed my time in Kinlochleven. I had a nice room and access to a cozy kitchen and common area. The work was straightforward and well-explained, and the hours were reasonable as well. It is the perfect place if you want to reconnect with nature and enjoy the peace and quiet of rural life. There is also plenty of time to explore nearby villages and towns, and hike on very beautiful trails. Overall, I am very grateful to the hosts for such a lovely opportunity. :)

During my stay at the the guest house I've learnt a lot about myself & had a great time living in the mountains & really connecting with the nature around me - it's really secluded, so it's a great place to recharge your batteries. Exploring the highlands (Glenfinnan, Fort William, Glencoe) was incredible! The work mostly included going guest rooms and cleaning bathrooms - it was relatively easy and briefly explained beforehand by Lewis, the host. Unfortunately, I was sick during my stay, so some tasks appeared a bit more exhausting and took more time. I really recommend this experience to everyone!
