About the experience in: Siem Reap, Cambodia
Brazil
The accommodation was unsanitary—dirty bathroom, bad smell, spiders, and even rats outside. Electricity and Wi-Fi barely worked, and AC was restricted despite extreme heat. After requesting a refund, the manager gave me only $30 of the $110 I paid, kept $80 claiming it was for donations (though the school lacked books, paper, or markers), and banned me from volunteering further. She even asked volunteers for $200 “contributions” to cover bills. Sadly, it felt neither non-profit nor child-focused. If you want to help, make sure to buy materials for kids yourself instead of donating the money.

Thank you for your message. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we do not agree with several of your statements, as our program follows local standards and all details about accommodation, donations, and contributions are clearly explained before arrival.
We wish you the best in your future volunteering experiences.
Best regards,
