Hours per week: Help out and collaborate with your host only a few hours per week.

The Experience

As a volunteer in with us your working day will be planned out by the Manager of the lodge where they will be on hand to help with work and show you what needs to be done, we like to keep a balance where we work but also enjoy ourselves! The main tasks of the job will be to make guests feel welcome, help create a friendly and fun atmosphere and to help with cleaning and keeping the place looking clean and tidy, as well as some cooking & serving.

I had the best time at the hotel! Killadoon is very remote but very beautiful and perfect if you want to relax, have game nights and spent time in nature or at the pub next door. The work was just as advertised, the staff was super welcoming and the work atmosphere was relaxed. The weekly workload never exceeded 25 h and when all tasks were done we finished early. It almost felt too good of a deal being able to use the dipper on weekends and to go surfing whenever. Thank you the hotel for the most amazing summer!

The hotel was incredible! It's right on the Wild the hotel way with stunning views, a perfect escape if you're looking to disconnect. It's about as rural as it gets (save the bar next door) so be sure to bring a book or something to entertain yourself. Or, enjoy a hike, swim, or surf if the weather holds out. The work is very reasonable, just some cooking and cleaning throughout the week. The staff here is great, super helpful and friendly. I'd come back in a heartbeat! Thank you Paco and co for an awesome experience!!

The hotel was my first volunteer experience through World Packers, and it was amazing! The staff is welcoming, and the area is beautiful. There's a great balance between relaxing/spending time in nature and grabbing pints/being social. Even though Killadoon is rural, it's easy to do day trips to Westport, Galway, or islands that are close. The work is relaxed, and you always share your shift with at least one other volunteer. While I was there, 4 volunteers returned for a second time. Between the staff and return volunteers, everyone is passionate about the hotel and has really positive vibes.

I volunteered at the hotel with a friend and we had such a lovely time! From the start, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and we loved working there. The tasks and hours were always fair. The team was amazing, always finding a way so everyone could have the best time at the lodge. We got to surf, use the dipper and do yoga, which was grand! Also, hitchhiking was much easier than expected, no probs at all. I am so grateful for this experience and the chance to meet such lovely people. Honestly, we wanted to come straight back the minute we left.. Thank you!!

I really enjoyed my time at the hotel. I came from Dublin hoping to surf and to get to know more of Ireland's beautiful coast. Tori, Liam, Paco, and Paddy were exceptional! Being able to stay in a hotel room for a few days during the week was a great bonus. Having access to all the amenities, such as the hot tub and sauna, was amazing. I would definitely go back, and I highly recommend this volunteering experience to everyone!
