The experience

As a volunteer in with us your working day will be planned out by the Manager of the lodge where they will be on hand to help with work and show you what needs to be done, we like to keep a balance where we work but also enjoy ourselves!

The main tasks of the job will be to make guests feel welcome, help create a friendly and fun atmosphere and to help with cleaning and keeping the place looking clean and tidy, as well as some cooking & serving.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

What you get

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Surf lessons: Take free surf classes at the local beaches.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 21 and 27 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Worldpackers should expect a fun and pleasant atmosphere where they get to meet other people and enjoy the West of Ireland & the lifestyle we have created here.

At BigStyle we work hard but definitely make sure to enjoy ourselves.

What we expect from Worldpackers is that when work is required we do it and do it well.

On our party weekends meals are all covered if on shift but weekday volunteers would have to provide their own food.

Opportunities to help out with our wood fire sauna and hot tub.

Activities & Shift

Daily activities can vary from day to day but we plan the each week to allow for either morning work which leaves the afternoon open or else the morning off with the afternoon for work.

Generally a work day is very flexible and once the tasks required are completed, we are happy and want staff to enjoy the surrounding beaches, walks and the lodge itself.

You're more than welcome to grab a surfboard and wetsuit and enjoy the waves only 5 min away walking. You'll also be able to join the surf lessons if there's space available.
