Brand new rescue centre for stray dogs in Sacred Valley, Peru!

I instantly felt welcome and at home with Emily and the family. I can't speak highly enough of the care and love that Emily has for the project. I spent my days helping with general upkeep of the property (scoopin poop) and doggy wellbeing. I was able to learn about caring for dogs with special needs and fell in love with the place and daily routine. The dogs are amazing little characters, the work is relaxed and fair and it was an honour to be a part of this project. You can play to your strengths with what you choose to help with during the days. I'll be back 🐕🌝💛

I loved my time with Emily and all the dogs! The scenery is amazing, you are surrounded by mountains in the Sacred Valley. We spent our days walking, playing and looking after the dogs and cats here. Emily welcomes you into her family and makes you feel at home here. I would definitely recommend this experience for any dog lovers!

We really enjoyed our time volunteering at Colitas Con Canas and spending time caring for the dogs and cats. Emily welcomed us into her home and made sure we were having a good experience throughout including enjoying the local area beyond our voluntary work. She is passionate about looking after the vulnerable animals she rescues and makes sure they're happy and healthy. We loved being part of the project and there was lots of opportunity beyond the daily jobs to play with the animals. We especially loved walking the dogs in the amazing surroundings of the Sacred Valley!

This was a very interesting experience. If a very basic lifestyle is okay then this will be great for you. The water pressure dropped to nothing fairly regularly while I was there. The kitchen is very 'gheto' and nights very cold. The dogs are all absolutely lovely I never had any issues with them being anything but incredibly loving and playful with people. I was lucky enough to watch a litter of puppies grow up while I was there! Fabrizio is amazing he's super super kind all the time. He does sometimes forgot to follow through on things so don't expect everything to be done in record time!

We had a lovely time here! We stayed for a week and really enjoyed the daily tasks, feeding the dogs, cleaning up the poop, cuddling the dogs. We loved learning how to care for the dogs with injuries, learning physio therapy etc. We also helped with some gardening and structure work as the place fairly new and continually improving the site. We had a comfortable stay in a comfortable bed and use of a basic kitchen. Everyone was very friendly. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Experiência sensacional, Emily é uma anfitriã muito boa, sempre disponível e flexível com dias e horas de trabalho. São 31 cães, a maioria com alguma necessidade especial, parece obvio, mas precisa gostar de cachorro e não se importar de dividir seu espaço com eles. O trabalho não é pesado e sobra muito tempo, é dividido basicamente durante a manhã e meio da tarde, não são horas seguidas, mas tudo é conversável. É um estilo de vida bem calmo, a cidade é pequena e não possui muitas coisas para fazer, mas da pra aproveitar e muito as belas paisagens do lugar, dar uma desacelerada.

Fue mi primera experiencia como voluntaria y me encantooo! ❤️ Las tareas fueron sencillas y todo como fue acordado. La ubicación es perfecta, rodeada de montañas, ruinas y cascadas donde puedes llegar caminando mientras paseas a los perritos; el pueblo igual queda cerca por si lo necesitas. La anfitriona es súper linda, te hace sentir como en casa😊 Al inicio debes acostumbrarte a los pelitos por todos lados; pero vale completamente la experiencia de poder ayudar y llenar de amor a los perritos y presenciar como superan problemas emocionales o físicos. Definitivamente recomiendo venir 🥰❤️

El refugioes un refugio de perritos el refugionecesidades especiales y/o el refugiovejez 🐾❤️, que NECESITAN de ti! Empatizarás y te encariñarás el refugiocada uno de ellos. Ya los extrañoo! Ten cuenta que el tener perritos no solo es dar amor sino también, alimentar, limpiar 24/7, pasear, bañar, etc. Así que aquí mostrarás tu responsabilidad, organización y trabajo en equipo. Las tareas y el horario son como lo acordado. Emily y su familia son unos grandes anfitriones buscarán que te sientas en casa y feliz.
