El refugioes un refugio de perritos el refugionecesidades especiales y/o el refugiovejez 🐾❤️, que NECESITAN de ti! Empatizarás y te encariñarás el refugiocada uno de ellos. Ya los extrañoo! Ten cuenta que el tener perritos no solo es dar amor sino también, alimentar, limpiar 24/7, pasear, bañar, etc. Así que aquí mostrarás tu responsabilidad, organización y trabajo en equipo. Las tareas y el horario son como lo acordado. Emily y su familia son unos grandes anfitriones buscarán que te sientas en casa y feliz. Our experience was great! All the animals are adorable and we really felt useful during our stay, especially with the dogs in wheelchairs. Emily has always been accommodating with us, she may seem a little overwhelmed but gives her best to help dogs in the area, which is very touching. We had a lot of free time to enjoy the Sacred Valley. The house and the land are amazing! however be carefull if you're sensitive to the dust bc a dozen dogs live here which makes cleanliness complicated. If we return to Peru we will not hesitate to come back. Good luck bc you'll fall love w/ dogs. 🧡

It was an incredible experience. The dogs really grew on me ans I spent most of my time cuddling them (best cuddle buddies!!) With the other volunteers we often went to the brewery or breakfast together which was a nice change of scenery. Coordinating day trips with Emily was super easy and she was very understanding, even helped planning. Overall a great way to spent your days, however, should you be sensitive to noise or need a clean space this might not be for you since it can be quite dirty in the house due to the dogs

You are going to fall in love with the shelterdogs! Each of them is special, and if you're going to stay long enough you'll be lucky to get really closed to them. Emily will kindly and generously receive you in her home, with her two kids and all the dogs. She will let you feel at home and involved in all the daily activities. You are going to be part of a great family and to know a little piece of Peru in a special and truly way. Lastly, the shelter is located in an incredible position in which you can enjoy the Sacred Valley!

It was a great experience in a magnificent setting. Emily is genuinely motivated by the idea of giving her dogs a second chance and has lots of stories to tell about each of them. You just have to be prepared to live with dogs all the time. Thank you for this experience. 🙏🏼

El refugioes un lugar hermosisimo. Me sentí en casa siempre. Agradezco enormemente a Emily, a travis a Eva y a sharito por acogerme de una manera tan bonita. Y a cada uno de los perritos, que demuestra que el cambio empieza desde ayudar a quien está mal y en este caso, los perritos. Urubamba es un pueblo hermoso y sus montañas y el lugar hacen que vivas feliz. Espero volver algún día ❤️

My time at the shelterwas wonderful. Emily is extremely hospitable, approachable, and friendly. I instantly felt at home the first day I got there. Also, after a few weeks you get really close to the pups and are invested in their wellbeing. The setting is also terrific (nested between two giant mountains, easy access to a local fishery and hiking trails). Lastly, it was a great way to meet people from all around the world! 10/10

Ser voluntaria en el refugio de Emily fue una experiencia realmente maravillosa. Cuidar de los 22 perritos fue mi primer voluntariado y me gustó muchísimo. Me sentí muy a gusto en el refu, mis tareas eran sencillas: sacar a pasear a los perros, darles de comer (junto el refugioel resto del equipo, estaba todo organizar por grupos), limpiar sus casas, lavar mantas y toallas, levantar sus caquitas y sobre todo darles mucho amor. En definitiva todo lo que necesitaban para estar en buenas condiciones. Sin dudas regresaré al refugio de Emily en algún momento, como experiencia es inolvidable. Gracias.!

Fue mi primera vez haciendo un voluntariado y fue una experiencia muy bonita. Emily me hizo sentir muy cómoda y como en casa, me hubiera gustado quedarme más tiempo para poder ayudar más a cuidar a los perritos del albergue. Además, el albergue está rodeado de paisajes y vistas hermosas que te permiten respirar aire puro y acercarte a la naturaleza. Espero poder regresar :)
