Description

Teacher retention suffers due to lack of stable allowances, affecting education quality. Meal availability depends on monthly donations, risking child hunger. The school lacks its own water source; during dry seasons, the communal pump runs dry. A borehole project was started but halted due to insufficient funds. Reliable support is urgently needed for these essential programs.

We loved our time in Simonga, Edwin and all of the members of staff were very friendly and helpful making us feel right at home. All the children were amazing and very eager to learn. Edwin gave us a lot of freedom to do what we would like and he was very happy in anyway we could help. We taught grades 5,6,7 in maths English and science and also built a chicken coop. A lot of the children would stay back after the school and would all want to play games socialize with you. The accommodation was the best we've had while volunteering around Africa we had our own room and a separate area for cooking

Edwin and his team were amazing. Truly a great group of people! Very welcoming, super friendly and warm, and most of all genuine! You'll get your own room and kitchen plus a dedicated shower and toilet. They provided WiFi and as many comforts as possible. The room and kitchen are basic, BUT it is more than enough, especially at a non-profit organization like this. All our belongings were safe too, something that many looking at volunteer opportunities care about! As for the kids ❤️ they will fill your heart! Each one so special and amazing! So get your application in, you won't regret it!

Hello Frankie, it was really nice to stay with you and happy with your commitment you had towards your time at our School. As the School we really benefited from your knowledge and experience we never expected. We are humbly appreciated with a lot of knowledge we got from you, and we will also share with our community of Simoonga.
If possible, you free to come back again.

GRACIAS
