The Experience

Cleaning and dealing with check outs for a few hrs in the morning, a bit of reception in the afternoon and at night some cleaning, common room activities and pub-crawl, we have 3 volunteers so it will be shift work. Only apply if you are friendly, social, fun, wanting to be around travellers and party. Must be fluent in English :)

Such a fun time!!!! I really love everyone i got the chance to meet and engage with, from the local community, other volunteers and the travelers in the hostel. The work was pretty relaxed, and definitely a far trade for what we got as volunteers. It was a 10/10, Pub crawls are great fun, the activities we got to do were amazing, and Jay was welcoming, and warm. I would go back and recommend it to anyone who likes to party 🥳

I had the BEST time at the hostel. Truly the best volunteering experience and Lagos is incredible! I was so sad to leave. The tasks are easy and on the first day you work morning shift with some cleaning, you have the afternoon off and then you work evening and do the pub crawl. Second day you work the afternoon and do check ins. Third day is off and then it repeats. Thank you for everything Jay and see you very very very soon!!😍

I had SUCH an amazing time at the hostel! :) From moment one Jay made me feel so welcome, as did the other volunteers. The work was very chill, lots of free time to enjoy Lagos and the Algarve. The hours are very consistent: day 1 morning shift + pubcrawl, day 2 afternoon reception shift, day 3 off, and then back to day 1. You can ask Jay any question you have. I loved having him as my host. This place and all the people have really grown on me and I was truly sad to leave. I would have extended if I didn't already have other plans. No goodbyes Jay, see you later!! <3

I had a great experience volunteering at JJ's the hostel! Jay was super welcoming and friendly from the beginning. The work was pretty chill and we had enough free time to explore Lagos! Would definitely recommend volunteering here! :)
