Help out at a comfortable and homey hostel in Sofia, Bulgaria

I ended up volunteering in a partner hostel and it was the best thing that could happen for my first experience. I'm very attached to my family and this was my first time away from home for so long and I found a family there. Nina is a real mom and the best soup-maker in Bulgaria! She's my second mom now and I'm thankful for all the love and memories I have, Dina is one of the sweetest person I met and Alex (both Alexs) are amazing too. The job is easy but with some details. In the first days might feel harder but it's really just the first days. Thank you for everything ❤️

The experience was good overall. The manager and host are kind, and the activities are not difficult — plus, there's no pressure since the place is very calm. During my stay, I was the only volunteer, but you can meet local guests. They provide pasta, milk, bread, and eggs so you can cook your meals, which is always helpful. There's also access to laundry and even a dryer at certain times. The location is good — it's less than a 5-minute walk to the metro and also close to the tram.

I had a really nice stay at this hostel. Barthel (manager) and Alex (boss) were friendly, and always willing to help. The place itself is cozy, perfect for relaxing. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Bulgaria :)

My experience at "the hostel" was very nice! The boss, Alexey, is a very kind person and always listens when you have questions. He always helps you when you need it. The work was fine; I enjoyed working there and doing things well without rushing. For me, the work was very pleasant. Thanks to Alexey and Sofia for this great experience!

My experience was good. The hostel is cozy, they provide good amount and variety of food ( like potatoes, milk, eggs, bread). The manager is always around to help. The room is spacious and comfortable. They also have bicycles which I was always happy to use:) Thank you for the time we shared!

If you want a quiet, nice and comfortable place, this is the perfect place for you. This is the perfect place for you. They respect the work schedules. they give basic food, they are kind and helpful. i really liked that place. by the way, it is a very quiet place. thanks Alex, Bart and Asia for everything. On the other hand, I would have liked more rotating hours per week. Recommendation. It's a nice place and the functions are simple. If you want something with a lot of movement it is not for you. If you like something quiet it is the perfect place. Translated with DeepL

This is a kind of volunteering that I suggest to have a work home job at the same time. You have a 5 hours shift, but takes only 40 min. to do your tasks. It's not a busy hostel, so they need you just to be there. The only positive points, you have a couple of things free (Eggs, bread, pasta, rice, sauce), it's easy to go to the city center and Barthel is kind.

My experience in the hostel was very good, the employees are nice and the tasks are very simple, about an hour of cleaning and the rest at the reception. They respect the 5 hours of work and the 2 days off, which allows you to discover the country and even nearby countries.

The tasks are explained in detail before starting. The timings are followed and it's 5 hours a day and 5 days a week. There is two days off and lot of time to explore the city. The shift begins with cleaning and remaining time you need to be at the reception. Don't miss a chance to visit Plovdiv. The metro and supermarket are walkable distance. Bartel will be there most of the time, if there is any doubts he will clarify you or if not you can call Alex and ask for clarification. Both of them are friendly. Overall, good experience and would recommend others.
