The Experience

We are a brand new hostel located in Beimen area (Taipei Main Station Area). We would love to accept people around the world to make our hostel a interesting place. The working detail will be doing some simple housekeeping and help our staff with the check-in process. We are also very open-minded and it would be fun to have travelers joining our team. It's also a great chance for you to blend in the local life and to interact with others.

Great location, great host, good living space, lots of amenities like breakfast, downstairs bathroom is which is really nice, and laundry service, many spaces to relax in or do work on laptop. Host is very welcoming and what's expected of you is laid out clearly from day one. As I'm writing this I still have until July 22 when I leave, originally it was 2 weeks but my host was kind enough to let me stay up until July 22 which is very kind of them. If you're new to the country like me this is a great introduction to save on accomodation costs and enjoy breakfast in abeautiful part of Taipei.

Can not recommend it enough! The tasks are really simple and not complicated. Staff is genuinely so nice, a big thank you to Tim! So sad I only got to stay for two weeks and I wish I could have stayed longer! You're always done with work by noon which gives you the rest of the day to explore the city. The hostel has a perfect location as well which makes it overall a great experience!

This was my first experience as a volunteer and I'm very happy I choose this place. I was staying in May Rooms the hostel and the host and the other volunteers were very nice, is a chill and quiet hostel so keep that in mind. I stayed for two weeks and the tasks were very simple, preparing breakfast and housekeeping. We were finishing early almost everyday, it really depends on the amount of work that there is to do. Overall I had a very nice experience and the atmosphere was very cozy and familiar. I recommend this place!

Although it was only a short two-week stay, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Mayroom staffs (Team, James and Mooi) for making it such a special experience. Thanks to their care and friendship, I was gifted with wonderful memories. The work was fairly distributed among the three of us, and I didn't face any particular difficulties. I enjoyed the local food at the nearby night market and also got to experience the NTU cafeteria. I especially liked the university sports field right behind the hostel. Once again, I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff.

Absolutely loved my two weeks helping out at Mayroons TMS, would definitely have extended my stay if I could! The team is lovely and the facilities are very nice and comfortable (I stayed in a mixed 12-bed room where the bed was comfortable). It is a pretty social hostel but also very suitable for introverts. The tasks were easy (mostly preparing breakfast, cleaning rooms & common areas and changing bed sheets) and the hours were very comfortable (mostly worked from 7:30 to 12:30). the hostel TPE is a good place for those looking to practice mandarin or Taiwanese as well :) Warmly recommend!
