I absolutely loved the experience! Palermo is an amazing city with incredibly welcoming people. Its the ideal base to explore Sicily, with beautiful beaches arou and easy access to travel, the location of the hostel is perfect. The nightlife is awesome, it's not expensive and the food money makes the stay a lot easier. The hostel needs a lot of improvements, as it's not really comfortable but for a short-term stay, it offers a lot of freedom. We made our own schedule and I had the best time volunteering at the hostel, was like my home for these 2 months. Thank you Andres, Francesco and Maud!

Volunteering at Sunrise was truly one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and part of something special. I didn't just find a place to stay, I found a family. We shared laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments that I'll carry with me forever. Palermo itself is magical, but what made this experience unforgettable was the love, kindness, and connection I found. I'm deeply grateful for this time and always will be. The facilities aren't the best and the kitchen could definitely be improved, but loved the good vibes and unforgettable moments

I had an amazing month in sunrise hostel! Andres and Francesco were both really receptive and nice with all of us. I'd say the best thing here is the other volunteers you meet and the city and Sicily in general! I made really good friends and could enjoy a lot the island with them because the workload is really chill! The job is not hard at all, we had the flexibility to manage and decide our shifts by ourselves which was also amazing! I would just say come not expecting a hostel with much structure, the kitchen is really basic it could be better but the staff room is pretty good with the ac!

I volunteered at the hostel for about 2 months and it was a very good experience. The hostel itself is definitely not the fanciest one, but you will have everything you need. Every information that is given on the profile is correct, you will get your 2 days off, only 25 working hours etc. Due to the owner of the hostel the recourses are very limited and you should not try to asked for too many extras. Even though the recourses are very limited, the managers Maud and Andres try their best to get as much out of the hostel as possible.

I should start my review saying how great Andres and Maud are! They do everything they can to help you and make you feel comfortable. The work is easy and you'll have a lot of flexibility to decide your shifts and days off. You'll also receive a small amount of money to share with your group to buy basic food for the week. The facilities are not great but if you go with an open mind, you will have an amazing time there! The terrace was my favorite place, it's perfect to have drinks and meet new people. I will miss everyone! Thank you the hostel ❤️

I feel blessed for this experience and I will always be grateful with Andres for letting me take part of it. This place is all about the good vibes, I made friends since the first day The hostel staff becomes family, you spend a lot of time together. Andres and Maud are like the big cool siblings who will take care of you. The building is old and maintenance issues appear every now and then but they always get solved. Thanks to Fran for the groceries budget. Nevertheless, I recommend volunteers to be willing to spend a little extra from their own pocket, around €10-15 per week.

I definitely recommend volunteering at the hostel. It's really the people that make it, and I was lucky enough to work with some amazing humans who quickly felt like family. Shout out to Pablo, Bella and Florian ✌️ The hostel isn't fancy, but it's got everything you need (even a new fry pan now!). It often felt more like a sharehouse. Perfect location—close to the center, station, and the sea. Plus Piazza Magione, a amazing square that comes alive with live music, drinking and picnics. Andres and Maud were lovely, fun, and always there to help when you need them. Ciao the hostel! Piacere ☀️

I had a really good time at the hostel. It's not fancy, and there are sometimes strange guests. But the managers try their best to make the volunteers feel comfortable. It seems like there's always something going on, so it all depends on what you make of it. The flexibility allows you to do so much. And if you have great fellow volunteers like I did, the time flies.

The work is very simple and the schedule is flexible. The location is great for day trips during your days off. It's also close to the day markets and the nightlife. The hostel itself is not very well maintained (great for volunteering), but not so great for guests (be ready to overcompensate with kindness). Andrés and Maud were very welcoming and tried making the experience as positive as possible (thank you to them!!). I suggest handling everything with them and not the owner, as we had some unpleasant exchanges with him. Overall I recommend this experience as it's perfect to explore Sicily

It was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have hoped for a better one. The hostel is located in the center, making it really convenient to explore and visit. The work was easy and light, we were able to choose the shifts among ourselves, and as long as tasks were completed, we were free to approach them as we preferred. Sofi and Francesco were always available and ready to helps us with any needs. The volunteer team quickly became like family to me. The month I spent in Palermo will remain a unique moment of sharing, learning and fun. I am grateful to have lived this adventure.
