Schlosshof Friedingen

Wake up to a beautiful view of Lake Constance, with the Alps in the distance and the volcanic landscape of the Hegau nearby.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in small-scale, diverse farming while harvesting vegetables, working in the vineyards, and renovating the house.

We’re an international, creative, and welcoming group. Volunteers arrive as strangers and leave as friends.

On site, you will be integrated into our everyday life. You will work alongside us Tuesday - Saturday from 7am-12pm. Sundays and Mondays are totally free. Afternoons are spent relaxing, hanging out, reading, swimming, exploring, painting, etc. We are close to the Singen train station which has lines to many small villages and big cities. After work - which changes daily - we all eat together under the walnut tree. Every team member is responsible for cooking once a week, which is a fantastic way to improve your cooking skills with vegetables straight from our garden. Our farm is vegetarian/vegan. In the evening and on weekends we always have a fun time on the farm with the Workawayers as well as our friends from the region. This includes lots of dancing! Every summer we have culture and philosophy events on the farm with many creative workshops. It does not matter how much experience you have, we are always here to guide you. Our project here at the farm focuses on sustainability, not business or money making. You will also meet our three wonderful cats!

My time at the farm was exciting and full of variety. The place is magical, really connected to nature and the local community. The work was engaging and gave me a better understanding of food production and the environment. Severin is welcoming, organized and with a generous spirit. He made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is relaxed but also fun, with lots of different activities and amazing people. I’m not vegan, but the food was surprisingly delicious and always enough. Definitely an experience I would recommend!

Schlosshof Friedingen is a great opportunity to live your first experience on a farm. I had never lived or worked on one before, and here I was able to learn so many things. Everyone is very patient and has no problem explaining things twice if you don’t understand. The people who are part of the community are also very kind and friendly, and the girls who work there are nice people.
You can use the kitchen to prepare whatever you want, it has everything you’ll need, and if something’s missing, you can just ask for it. You’re about 20–30 min. by bike from Singen, or 10 min by bus

This was my first month in Germany, and it couldn't have been in a better place. The site is beautiful, close to the Alps and Lake Constance (Bodensee). I had the opportunity to learn and work with organic farming, always doing a little bit of everything. I feel like I greatly improved my English and German practicing with the others. Of all of this, the community and integration were the most important; they welcomed me like family and introduced me to the German culture. Finally, the events organized by Severin made this a unique and intense experience, always with new things happening!

Schlosshof Friedingen is a little piece of heaven on earth. Every little ingredients are reunited for an amazing experience at the farm! Severin, the hardworking and multitask host, will make sure you are being looked after properly and that you are not missing anything. There’s plenty of opportunities to learn about different stuff, gardening, wine making, harvesting, painting and COOKING which was my favorite part of course !
Made friends for life, the list of people I will miss is long, 100% RECOMMEND EYES CLOSED :))))

My first Worldpackers and I picked the perfect place. Severin is a hardworking, generous, and fun host. If you need anything, just ask! The work is enjoyable and insightful. I loved harvesting and spending time in the vineyards. Afternoons are free to explore or relax. I spent my time drawing, reading, painting, dancing, and gossiping. Severin stocks the kitchen with everything you need. It’s a great environment to practice German with compassionate and patient people. Leonie, Johanna, Madi, Clara, Max, and Hannes are such lovely people too. If I could lose my job and stay longer, I would :)
