Sandsböla

Experience the relaxed way of life in Sweden. Learn about craftmanship, gardening, fishing and Swedish and German culture. Learn how to bake your bread and how to brew your beer. Learn about picking mushrooms and wild berries. Enjoy our good homemade food every day.

We are a family of four, to adults and two boys. We are easy going people and try to live a partly self sufficiant life. For us it's important that both parts - hosts and volunteers - have the feeling they did benefit from their stay. We are looking forward to cultural exchange with people from all over the world, and we'd like to have volunteers from as many different countries as possible.

It was a very good time.
The working hours were flexible.
The horse care was excellent, and there was always something tasty to eat.
It was a pleasant and enjoyable encounter with the family. Personally, I would definitely go there again.

I spent four weeks with Heine and Astrid and it was an incredible experience.
From day one, they made me feel welcome, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere warm and friendly. The tasks around the house and property were varied, enjoyable, and appreciated. The place is beautiful, right by a lake, and the kids are fun and curious.
I highly recommend this project to anyone looking for a peaceful, cultural exchange in a stunning environment.

The place Astrid and Hein have chosen as their home is absolutely stunning! Right in the middle of the gorgeous swedish countryside you can forget about almost everything. The family welcomes you whole heartedly and you‘ll be instantly part of their day to day life. There is plenty of great self cooked food and baked goods and you‘ll never go hungry even for a minute (you might even have to eat a little too much when it‘s time for „Fika“ in the afternoon :D). It was an honor to take part in renovating their home and I learned a lot about carpentry and green gardening.

My stay with Heid and Astrid was wonderful. The farm, a beautiful place, connects you with nature from the very first moment. As my first volunteer experience, I took away unforgettable memories: they are a welcoming family and their pets are delightful.
Thank you for everything 🫶🏼

I stayed with Hein and Astrid for almost 6 weeks and had some of the best days of my travels there. Their home is beautiful, right by a lake, and the work was always fun and varied—gardening, building beehives, helping with renovations, and more. They made me feel totally at home, always offering things to do on days off, and kept me very well fed with amazing food. The 3-day kayaking trip was unforgettable (I even saw a moose swimming!). They’re generous, kind, and full of good energy. Truly great people—couldn’t recommend them more!
