Inverness Student Hotel

We have an awesome team, great location and have a good craic! Inverness is the capital of the Highlands and a great base camp if you want to explore the beautiful wilderness that is the Highlands! We're bus rides away from the famous Loch Ness to go monster hunting, waterfalls, hiking, walking, landmark visiting and spectacular scenery viewing! We're also the start and end point of the Great Glen Way for avid walkers and provide a well needed kip, hot shower and brew for the well travelled adventurer.

We have got several sister hostels to across Bonnie Scotland, so if you help for an extra shift you get a free night in any of our other hostels on your days off! That includes in Edinburgh, Scotland's captital!

You will receive full training upon arrival and welcomed like family into our Highland home :) We're a very fun and cosy team, who loves to welcome people, you'll love it in here! We often gather for dinners, game nights, head into town together to enjoy the famous Scottish music and dancing and explore Scotland together. Inverness has lots to offer and you're sure to meet some pretty cool people along the way here <3.

Gordon was rude, arrogant and nasty. We had a conflict one time and when I tried to address it, his response was to yell at me in front of guests and intimidate me. His attitude caused me nothing but anxiety.
He regularly gossiped about me to the other volunteers. I believe he was homophobic because he was really close with everyone else, I didn't feel like I could talk to anyone. IF YOU ARE A GAY GUY! And you apply to volunteer here, Skye, Fort William, Pitlockery, or Oban and Gordon is the manager, DONT VOLUNTEER THERE! This is a company that moves staff around and he is getting promoted.

My time at Inverness Student Hostel was truly amazing. I grew to love both the city and the people I met there. I stayed during October and November, which is a quieter season, so we often finished our shifts early. That gave me plenty of time to explore the city and its surroundings. The hostel has a very homey and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were kind, helpful and great fun to be around. Inverness is a lovely base for visiting the Highlands, with nice walks and lively nights, though days get dark early. I’d recommend this hostel for a cozy, relaxed volunteering experience.

Inverness student hostel was a great volunteering experience. The tasks are extremely fair (I volunteered as the season came to a close), but the work was outlined prior to the shift and all the instructions were very clear. The managers were all great and volunteers lovely. Inverness is a great base and is perfect to explore the highlands. I’d highly recommend Inverness Student Hostel!!

I absolutely loved my time at Inverness Student Hostel! The work hours are very fair and it’s great working alongside the other volunteers - you really share the workload and the time just flies by. You have plenty of free time to explore the Highlands, and the live music scene in town. There are lots of great perks for volunteers, like free breakfast and the opportunity to stay at other hostels around the Highlands in exchange for extra work. I’d absolutely recommend this experience!

This was my first experience with Worldpackers, and it couldn't have been better. Everything was communicated clearly, and the work was easy to do, leaving plenty of time to explore Inverness and the surrounding area. I can only recommend it!
