Casa De Los Cuadros

If you are interested in real Spanish culture and living like a local then this is for you. Otherwise, you will be more suited to somewhere busier and may find it too quiet.

It is not isolated and has a few bars and restaurants in the village, with more to explore in the nearby towns. But it is quiet, rural and relaxing.

You can access our village by bus from Malaga or Seville. There is a daily bus that can take you to well known tourist towns such as Ronda.

If you want lots of people and bars, shops, special dietary foods in the village, then this won't be suitable. But you can get to famous Ronda in 45 minutes by bus and the beautiful town of Grazalema in 15 minutes by bus.

The region is one of the sunniest parts of Spain. Lots of winter sunshine too. The house is heated in winter and very comfortable in all seasons.

Steve is a photographer and Dawn is in Marketing. We both love walking and exploring. Paula is our manager and she lives in the village, she is Spanish & speaks English. Depending on the time of year that you stay, it could be working with Paula and you stay in our apartment or it could be working with us. If we are not there then you will need to cook and be independent or you wont eat much : )

I loved my time at Casa de los Cuadros! It’s in a small rural village in the Spanish mountains, making for a peaceful, slow-paced volunteering experience. The locals are lovely, and the village has all you need—plus lots of great hikes. We spent the first night with Dawn and Steve, who were so kind and welcoming. They were away the rest of our stay but kept great communication. The work was fair, and the food provided to cook with was amazing. Also so grateful for the other volunteers, Danielle & George—we had the best time!

I had a great time in the Casa de los Cuadros. If you're looking for a more relaxed volunteer experience in rural Spain then this opportunity is perfect. The village is small but has everything you'll need. There's also daily buses to nearby pueblos (like Grazalema which is very beautiful). The facilities are great with friendly owners. Although the owners were away during my stay, they stayed in touch reminding us of our tasks every day. They also left some delicious food for us to eat haha. Of course very grateful to Danielle and Micki for making my experience here even greater:))

Thank you very much Steve and Dawn I had a great time staying in Casa de los Cuadros! The tasks are well explained and enjoyable and the food is brilliant. Their two dogs Raspa and Zoro are an added bonus.

Dawn and Steve were lovely hosts, welcoming me immediately and making me feel at home. The hours were exactly as agreed and the entire experience was very enjoyable. For future volunteers you will be staying in a loft in a very communal living space as well as use a washroom with no lock. Not a big deal for me but just in case you are looking for a more private space. Thank you to Dawn and Steve for this amazing opportunity👏

it was my first time using worldpackers and it was an amazing experience! Dawn & Steve were really helpful with the information on how to get there and great with communication. Steve’s cooking is absolutely amazing too! For work, it consisted of helping painting, cleaning rooms and walking the dogs, nothing too exhausting.
