Casa De Los Cuadros

A retreat style place. Calm, in nature.
If you are interested in real Spain and living like a local then this is for you.

It is not isolated and has a few bars and restaurants in the village, with more to explore in the nearby towns.

You can access our village by bus from Malaga or Seville. There is a daily bus that can take you to well known tourist towns such as Ronda.

You can get to famous Ronda in 45 minutes by bus and the beautiful town of Grazalema in 15 minutes by bus.

The region is one of the sunniest parts of Spain. Lots of winter sunshine too. The house is heated in winter and very comfortable in all seasons.

Steve is a photographer and Dawn is in Marketing. We spend a lot of time away from the house as well as working in the house, mostly during Art Retreats. Depending on the time of year that you stay, it could be working with another volunteer and you stay in our apartment. If we are not there then you will need to cook and be independent but we do provide all of the food. Other times, you would be working with us and we cook.

This was a fun experience. We only worked a few hours a day and the work was pretty easy. You need to clean the rooms and the guesthouse in general. In our free time, we visited nearby cities and did amazing hikes around the village. Even though the hosts were not here in person, we always knew what to do. They also provided a lovely apartment and enough money for food. You just need to know that there is only one bus to Ronda and one back to the village.
All in all, I can definitely recommend this experience:)

Volunteering at Casa de los Cuardos was an amazing experience. The apartment we lived in was really nice.
And even though Steve and Dawn weren't with us, they contacted us every day to check and tell us what our tasks for the day were.
The work wasn't hard and we had a lot of freetime for hiking and exploring the Village.
On our free days we could visit Ronda or Grazalema.

This is a cozy hostel in a small village that comes alive on weekends. There wasn't too much work, the tasks were easy to understand and do. The hosts are friendly, caring and trustworthy. It was enough time to go on hikes around the village and visit other places. Thank you for the home and the opportunity to be a part of it.

It's a great volunteer opportunity for those seeking tranquility. The tasks are simple and well-explained, and I had plenty of time to explore the area. The area designated for volunteers is very comfortable. The hosts were extremely polite, kind, attentive, and understanding.

The two-week experience at “Casa de los cuadros” was extremely positive. In this small village nestled in the mountains, I found peace and relaxation. The working hours were excellent, mostly concentrated during the weekend, which allowed me to focus on my projects and have plenty of free time. Steve and Dawn were extremely helpful, and every task we had to complete was explained in detail with videos and comprehensive explanations. What's more, the place is very nice and welcoming. Highly recommended!
