I really enjoyed the experience despite being only 3 volunteers most of my stay, therefore sometimes morning shift could get pretty hard (be prepared to clean and make beds). Night shift is quite chill and there are two free days in a row per week which I used to travel to the countries around as there is not much to do in Zagreb (make sure you visit the coast of Croatia 😉) The volunteers room and common areas are confortable, I also appreciate the free breakfast and the hostel is in a very good location. The girls in reception are all lovely. Big hug to all the hostel team 🫶🏼🫂

I enjoyed this experience due to the nice stuff and lovely volunteers and I appreciated the fact that we were able to exchange shifts or finish earlier, that we had breakfast and the chance to spend quality time in the common areas. I didn't, however , enjoy climbing a lot of stairs in order to work or take a shower, that there were high school students waking us up at 7-8 (there's also a school inside the building) and that sometimes the work would get pretty intensive. It's no one's fault, but if sleep or another side job is important to you, you might find it difficult. 🙏

My time wasn't the best I arrived to a dirty room & it didn't set a good first impression, after a few weeks I felt like I was getting the cold shoulder & other volunteers saw it to. I was told to stay past the designated work hours & when I asked a worker for help she said no because she didn't feel like it. I was told numerous times by the workers that the host was mad at me which created a unsettling environment. Not all was bad, I really enjoyed meeting a few of the workers & wish them well. This was just my experience and am not discouraging anyone from going, thank you for hosting me, HB

My experience at the hostel was truly amazing. This past month I met some of the most amazing people and created memories that I will hold on to for a lifetime. I personally want to thank ALL the staff and other volunteers for being so welcoming and kind during my stay. The tasks were fairly easy and work hours were always respected. The staff were always there if you needed someone to talk to or if you had any questions or concerns. If you need certain days off it's not a problem and usually pretty flexible. the hostel will always have a place in my heart. Love dash.

I loved my time at the hostel - the volunteer work was more than fair, just some changing of beds, mopping and dusting. Marija ensured you explain everything clearly and was happy to arrange the work rota's based on any other commitments we had. It was great getting to know the other staff members and volunteers too :)

Everyone is welcome! My experience at the hostel was amazing. The location is perfect. The hostel is 5 minute walk from the main square. You have the bus station nearby, supermarkets nearby, bars, and restaurants. In the hostel, there is a big game room with computers that you can use. The volunteer activities are easy. You will have time to get to know Zagreb, castles, national parks, and hiking. Visit nearby countries on your 2 days off. Breakfast is included. You will have a good time, I recommend it. Mi experiencia fue muy buena! Ivona, Marija, Berni, Diana y Catri, fueron personas muy cálidas. Ellos tomaron acción en situaciones donde la dueña del hostel no nos brindó respuesta y fueron muy amables con todos los voluntarios. Valoro mucho sus gestos con nosotros. Siempre fueron muy flexibles con los días libres y las horas de trabajo. Las tareas son muy simples y repetitivas. Se aprende muy rápido. Es una muy buena opción para conocer gente de otros países ya que el hostel siempre está lleno

This was my first Worldpackers experience and it was amazing. I am grateful to have met so many wonderful people including the other volunteers, staff & hostel guests! There is always someone around to talk to or hangout with. The work was fair and our schedules were respected. No matter if you work in the morning or at night, there is more than enough time in the day to explore the city and surrounding nature parks. Plus the hostel is in a great location, super close to everything!
