It was my first time volunteering, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to start! everything was perfect, Marzena was super helpful and understanding. I have read the reviews saying it is like a second home, but I didn't think I would ended feeling so at home there! I really hope I will be able to come back one day!

Good Bye the hostel is a home within the heart of the beautiful town of the hostel. Outside of the hostel are the gorgeous Tatra Mountains wonderful for skiing and hiking. Inside the hostel are the most friendly volunteers and travelers from all around the world. Thank you to the loveliest host Marzena for such a positive experience. I only wish I had stayed longer!

Wow ! I had high expectations because of the reviews, and I can tell you is the best decision ever! GBL has something special, and also as the people that arrive here. My experience was awesome, I had to extend, and will definitely come back. Marzena is just amazing! Thank you Marzena and all that made this experience unique 🫶🏼✨

This experience was amazing! I chose to volunteer at GBL due to all the reviews saying it felt like a 2nd home, and that felt so true. It was nice to have a lot of volunteers which were more constant than the guests, so that you could form stronger connections. The pace of life is slow, it rained almost everyday of my stay yet it was nice to just stay in and read and hangout with people as well. Rain = beautiful luscious scenery as well. Bring your hiking boots! That's the main thing to do and it's so beautiful. Marzena always had our backs and helped make our schedules work for us!

Realmente les recomiendo este lugar, no por nada tiene tantas reviews positivas y muchos de los voluntarios deciden regresar. Marzena es increíble, chill, flexible, y siempre escucha tus necesidades. El lugar es super cozy y te sientes como en tu segunda casa, sin duda los voluntarios los que conocí los volveré a ver en otro momento y en otro lugar, muchos se robaron mi corazón, les deseo lo mejor

GBL made me realise that I can call more than one places home :) and this home was full of unique people, beautiful sunsets, hikings in colorful paths in forests and lakes, movie nights and moments that I wish I could live again (and again and again). This month was one of the most beautiful months of my life. 😊

GBL was an amazing place to constantly get in touch with nature as is so close to the national park and the start point of so many hiking trails, it was also great to meet some other international travelers and learn different things from them. The tasks were very easy and we had so much free time to spend in the Tatras and chilling. The hostel has a different activity every night so it was a great opportunity to socialize with the guests and enjoy the evenings at home. Thank you so much for this month, k would definitely go back if I had the chance 🩷

The experience was really nice. Because of personal stuff I couldn't really enjoyed to the fullest. You can hike, you work a bit and help out, you will have some nice movie evenings or quiz nights. Sometimes or often it can be really full in the hostel, it's a small cozy hostel. So if you want some privacy there will be not always options. But then, days will come where there are not guests at all and there are just volunteers.It's possible. And It's a great chance to be in nature and connect with yourself. Taje the chance, it's definitely worth it

This experience was a great one! the hostel is a place where you can disconnect and enjoy nature while discovering a beautiful country. Marzena is a great host, always available to help everyone who needs it. If you look for a quiet place where you can have more time for yourself, while you get to know the beauty of the Trata Mountains, this is your best option. And also you'll have the pleasure of meeting the hostel pets, Mia, Mao and Majka!:)

It was such a great experience that I had to extend my stay! GBL feels like home, the house is a little bit far away from the city but there is always buses or you can take a walk to there, and if you cross the street you're already in the national park with great hikes, the location allows you to have peace and contact with nature. Margena is an amazing host, she is super understandable and try to make you comfortable and well, the shift are well limited and agreed every week, and there is a tematic night every day! Is a great place to meet people and see wonderful views. I'm coming back fs!
