Travelers will share dorm rooms (3 to 6 beds), fostering a simple and communal atmosphere perfect for building friendships. The project provides shared bathrooms with 24/7 hot showers, spacious common areas for the group to bond, and a mini-kitchen for preparing meals together. Amenities include lockers, fast Wi-Fi (100 Mbps+), and bicycles for local exploration. A dedicated workspace is available for planning activities, and laundry machines can be used for a small cost.
Meals are a core part of this authentic experience! The project provides a simple breakfast (bread, butter, jam, honey, tea, coffee) to start the day, and for lunch and dinner, the group will explore like locals, eating at nearby shops known for authentic rice and noodle dishes. This approach supports the community and offers a genuine taste of Thai culture. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. The project team also prepares some meals, and travelers are welcome to use the kitchen for personal snacks. All dietary restrictions are considered.
To ensure a smooth start to your journey, your local host arranges pick-ups from BKK airport, bus terminals, or hotels in Bangkok (between 5 AM - 10 PM). Just be sure to coordinate this at least one week in advance. A team member will be waiting with a sign and will provide a free SIM card. You'll then travel directly to the project site. The experience kicks off with a group welcome dinner on Saturday. Sunday is for settling in together, with an orientation, a walking tour, and cultural activities before the project begins. A shared departure to BKK airport is scheduled once daily at 10 AM.
This initiative was founded in 2011 by a team dedicated to education and community development. With over 15 years in Thailand, they partner with 50+ schools and 35 villages to promote cultural exchange, English learning, and sustainable tourism. Hosting thousands of travelers has created over 9,000 teaching hours per year, directly impacting more than 10,000 students. Their work strengthens local schools, empowers teachers, and connects global travelers with Thai communities.
Located in the heart of Bangkok’s Thonburi district, the experience is surrounded by vibrant markets, temples, and riverside life. Travelers can explore Chinatown, Khao San Road, and the iconic ICON SIAM shopping complex just a short ride away. The area blends traditional Thai culture with modern city energy, offering endless opportunities for discovery.
Through English teaching, cultural exchange, and hands-on community projects, the group helps students and teachers gain valuable language skills and confidence. The experience also promotes local economic growth, from cooking classes to festivals, ensuring cultural traditions and sustainable practices thrive.
By supporting Quality Education, travelers create opportunities for Thai students to practice English, bridging gaps in access and helping them build skills to thrive globally.
Aligned with Decent Work & Economic Growth, the project strengthens local tourism by training communities in storytelling, service, and sustainable business practices.
