Wayan’s motivation stems from a tough experience on a cruise ship in 2007. Unable to connect due to language barriers, he decided to provide English education and cultural exchange in Seraya, Bali.
After 14 years, their engagement with the community has transformed their village in Bali. Initially wary, locals now welcome travelers, who interact with over 20 kids, teaching English and sports.
Guests are essential for the project's success, making learning enjoyable and financially supporting ongoing activities and facility improvements. The impact speaks volumes: Over 30 students secured jobs thanks to their English proficiency, and 15+ received scholarships for university, all thanks to Wayan’s project.
Seraya, a secluded part of Bali's coast, offers an authentic Balinese experience away from the tourist crowds. Surrounded by beautiful forests and calm beaches, guests wake up to the sounds of waves. The local community warmly embraces guests, adding to the charm of the region.
Seraya is a 2.5-hour drive from Denpasar, Bali's main city, with no public transport available, but guests are provided transportation.
Our main focus is to provide education, cultural exchange, and English literacy to children and teenagers in the local community. Practicing and learning a new language opens doors to more opportunities in their future, such as better jobs, scholarships, and access to good universities, positively impacting their income.
We strive to improve community life through educational initiatives and financial support to build more spaces for these activities. Thanks to ongoing efforts, over 30 students have secured good jobs thanks to their English skills, and more than 15 have enrolled in reputable universities with scholarships earned through their language proficiency.
We provide knowledge and share their varied cultural backgrounds, which allows them to understand the opportunities available to them and be more prepared to benefit from it.
By learning English and having a good quality education, the kids and teenagers have a bigger chance to get better jobs in their future, and also go to great universities. So, our project helps them get the necessary knowledge to improve their families income and live a better life.
