It was so great spending 5 weeks with the team at the hostel, I spent my shifts in the kitchen doing various tasks including baking and in my downtime I got to know the area hiking and training up for my own Camino adventure. Gaëlle, Julie and Benjamin are so welcoming, you work with a team including several volunteers and when you include the pilgrims themselves you get to meet people from everywhere :)

The most warm welcoming, kind and talented family I've ever met in my life! Working hours were flexible and it was very comfortable to work with the whole hostel team. Hostel is full of art opportunities and every night there is an amazing good music show (thank you for letting me be a part of it) Since the first day in Monistrol I truly fell in love in this place and these people. The place I stayed was beautiful, the other volunteers were also very cool guys. Thank you Gaëlle and Benjamin for such an amazing travel experience, it was a great pleasure to meet you, your kids and dogs!

Come to the hostel! You will not regret it. You'll meet great people, learn about the local flora and fauna, eat good food, hear (and/or play!) amazing live music in the evenings, and see the beautiful mountains and rivers. But most importantly, you will get to know Benjamin and Gaëlle, the two most singularly amazing hosts you could have!

Staying with Gaelle and Ben for 15 days was truly heartwarming. They are incredibly kind, flexible, and always attentive to your needs. Whether you seek support, inspiration, or a chance to learn something new, they go above and beyond to make you feel seen and supported. It's a beautiful experience for those wanting to improve their French, cooking skills, or dive into the music world. Evenings are filled with inspiring conversations with pilgrims from around the world (mostly French). If you long for a deep connection with nature, this peaceful village will feel like home. <3

I had a great time but maybe not the best. Everyone was welcoming and they respected the working hours. I did not have all the benefits they promised so I was kind of sad bc of that. It's a remote village and they don't even provide the three meals, so buying groceries was not that great of an experience. Additionally, I was in a period of time where the cook was on vacation so they had to work more than they usually do. Being surrounded by that amount of nature was what I truly needed. Overall, I would recommend it bc I believe they can improve on the promised benefits area.

I had the most wonderful time here! Gaëlle and Benjamin are some of the most welcoming people I've ever met and working with them was a genuine pleasure. The other volunteers were all super friendly and I had a great time getting to know them. My French improved a lot, but I'd say that if you don't speak any French you can definitely still come here. Thank you so much Gaëlle and Ben!!

Gaelle and Benjamin are incredible human beings, they are so nice and you feel like at home with them. Everybody there is so kind and frequently they ask how you feel. This was my first experience with Worldpackers and definitely I recommend to join this project. You can be in touch with nature and learn about many things. I will miss everything there 🥰

My stay at the hostel has been simply amazing. Both Ben and Gaëlle are amazing hosts and are incredibly kind and supportive. Theirs kids are also super kind and full of energy. Also need to mention Cyprien who has been supportive and helpful at every turn, making my life and the lives of the other volunteers fun and exciting. The work is easy, simple and flexible. Hours are respected and the scheduling is very flexible if you want to explore other villages around. The nature is also some of the best in France. It is isolated however, so keep that in mind. Highly recommend, I love it

Gaëlle and Ben welcome me as a family member and treat me very well all the time, me and the other helpers became friends very quickly, everyone in the village was kind, I had amazing afternoons at the river, delightful musical dinners at the hostel , soft and fun working hours at the kitchen. I loved the experience and I'll never forget, hope come back next year 🩷

It was very nice to have you at our hostel, where you felt immediately the atmosphere and contributed so well to put a great energy. Clara, you are very skillful in cooking, especially your so delicious desserts made with lots of love :) Moreover, you took part so easily, so spontanously in the team, I admired your very nice adaptation... We miss you a lot, I hope you come back to visit us soon!

I am very grateful for my time here!! I truly feel like I made friends and family in France. It was hard to leave a place full of so much love. The setting was magical along a beautiful river surrounded by mountains. The area has climbing, hiking trails and rafting! The work hours were respected and relaxed. It was encouraged to keep life interesting and try different things to help out. I personally found working in the kitchen stressful at times but often relaxed with music and dancing. I enjoyed cooking and being creative. Knowing French is suggested!! :)
