My stay at the hostel has been simply amazing. Both Ben and Gaëlle are amazing hosts and are incredibly kind and supportive. Theirs kids are also super kind and full of energy. Also need to mention Cyprien who has been supportive and helpful at every turn, making my life and the lives of the other volunteers fun and exciting. The work is easy, simple and flexible. Hours are respected and the scheduling is very flexible if you want to explore other villages around. The nature is also some of the best in France. It is isolated however, so keep that in mind. Highly recommend, I love it

Gaëlle and Ben welcome me as a family member and treat me very well all the time, me and the other helpers became friends very quickly, everyone in the village was kind, I had amazing afternoons at the river, delightful musical dinners at the hostel , soft and fun working hours at the kitchen. I loved the experience and I'll never forget, hope come back next year 🩷

Clara, you are very skillful in cooking, especially your so delicious desserts made with lots of love :) Moreover, you took part so easily, so spontanously in the team, I admired your very nice adaptation... I am very grateful for my time here!! I truly feel like I made friends and family in France. It was hard to leave a place full of so much love. The setting was magical along a beautiful river surrounded by mountains. The area has climbing, hiking trails and rafting! The work hours were respected and relaxed. It was encouraged to keep life interesting and try different things to help out. I personally found working in the kitchen stressful at times but often relaxed with music and dancing. I enjoyed cooking and being creative. Knowing French is suggested!! :)

This is a special space created and cared for by beautiful and kind people with an abundance of nature to explore. Being a small team, there is a lot to help with, but you are empowered to contribute as you wish. It really was an amazing little world to be a part of that thrives off of reciprocity. The language barrier was challenging at times, so I would recommend learning French before you go. But I'm so grateful for my time here and felt loved and cared for by everyone at the hostel.

Many local people asked news about you ; we were like a part of our family, a part of the "nature" and a part of the "atmosphere of the hostel" thanks to the magical energy you put here ... I spent 6 weeks at the hostel and I enjoyed it a lot. At the beginning I had to adjust a little bit because it is a small village and there aren't a lot of other young people. But when you start to enjoy the nature, go on walks or swim, you realize how amazing it is. The work is easy and interesting. I worked at the bar and learned a lot about the french culture. It is also perfect if you want to practice your French. Gaëlle and Benjamin are very nice and welcoming. It was always fun with them and the whole team and they really cared about the volunteers. I can recommend it a lot:)

This was my first experience volunteering ever, and I enjoyed it fully. I learnt so much in many areas, more than I expected. Gaëlle is a really special person, and she surrounds herself with people like her. Her family is kind and welcoming. The people who work at the Hostel were happy to have us there, we all shared work, conversations, songs and even some dancing. And also the other volunteers became new friends. Monistrol d'Aallier is a beautiful little french town, which allowed me to get in contact with nature and myself. I'm grateful for this experience.

Minha experiência no hostel foi maravilhosa! O vilarejo é lindo e possui vistas incríveis da natureza, com várias opções de trilhas. Ben e Gaelle são muito atenciosos e receptivos, sempre dispostos a te ajudar e facilitaram muito todo o processo do voluntário. Vou lembrar com muito carinho de todos que conheci em Monistrol D'Allier.

Muito obrigado! Foi minha primeira experiência com o Worldpackers e não poderia ter sido melhor. Gaëlle, Benjamin, Fanny, Ciprian, Rosa e Dodine formam uma equipe sensacional. Nota 10! Aprendi muito sobre o trabalho num hostel, ou alberge, como dizem na região. A oportunidade de ajudar na cozinha e aprender com a Fanny foi Super!
