This is a special space created and cared for by beautiful and kind people with an abundance of nature to explore. Being a small team, there is a lot to help with, but you are empowered to contribute as you wish. It really was an amazing little world to be a part of that thrives off of reciprocity. The language barrier was challenging at times, so I would recommend learning French before you go. But I'm so grateful for my time here and felt loved and cared for by everyone at the hostel.

Dear sweet Jakob, thank you very much for your beautiful message. Already 1 week you left and the hostel feels "empty" without your so nice presence around us. Many local people asked news about you ; we were like a part of our family, a part of the "nature" and a part of the "atmosphere of the hostel" thanks to the magical energy you put here ... I feel that " the nature", the "hostel", the people around and our family say you a deep thank you for all you have done here... and your sweet Mady! We hope to see you both soon!!

I spent 6 weeks at the hostel and I enjoyed it a lot. At the beginning I had to adjust a little bit because it is a small village and there aren't a lot of other young people. But when you start to enjoy the nature, go on walks or swim, you realize how amazing it is. The work is easy and interesting. I worked at the bar and learned a lot about the french culture. It is also perfect if you want to practice your French. Gaëlle and Benjamin are very nice and welcoming. It was always fun with them and the whole team and they really cared about the volunteers. I can recommend it a lot:)

This was my first experience volunteering ever, and I enjoyed it fully. I learnt so much in many areas, more than I expected. Gaëlle is a really special person, and she surrounds herself with people like her. Her family is kind and welcoming. The people who work at the Hostel were happy to have us there, we all shared work, conversations, songs and even some dancing. And also the other volunteers became new friends. Monistrol d'Aallier is a beautiful little french town, which allowed me to get in contact with nature and myself. I'm grateful for this experience.
