It's a really nice setting, lots of free time to chill & explore the area. An important note that is not described in post is that it is teaching online. Up to 6 classes of 40 minutes sometimes back to back. Food was great! Generally a good experience.

The place is nice however the volunteer hub is terrible. No one welcomed us upon arrival and we were on our own the whole day. There are no other volunteers. No one explained our tasks, we were just sent an incomplete pdf file. We felt lonely and unsafe, the host never showed up even though we asked to see her a few times.

I am the organizer of this volunteer program to help teach English, which I have set up myself. Everything is scheduled clearly. We work as a team: Gong and Base take care of the volunteers, my mother and aunt cook, and I handle volunteer emails. What you mentioned about no one taking care of you is not true. Volunteers are always taken care of.

When you arrived, my team members, Base and Gong, welcomed you. They explained how to live in my house and provided a guideline document for you to read in advance about how the work is done. Previous volunteers read this document, understood it, and were able to work immediately.

You and your friend arrived and asked me to meet you, but I was unavailable. That night, I came home very late and had to leave early in the morning for work. I know what I need to do each day, and my mother and my team took care of you, so you were not left alone as you claimed. However, you only stayed one night. I provided both food and accommodation without you starting any work for me, and then you left without notifying me.

I enjoyed my time at the school. It was a peaceful stay. It is in the middle of nowhere, so there isn't much to do.😂 I will say that the work hours are long. Sometimes you will have classes back to back with no break in between. We also could have been trained better. The job isn't difficult, but there wasn't much communication between the host and volunteers.

I had a wonderful experience here! The volunteers were welcoming and warming and the team was kind as well! Unfortunately I had to leave airlift earlier but they were understandable :)

My experience with Brainschool was great overall and great fun. They provided the right facilitates for all the volunteers to work well, as well as organising some fun activities throughout the week/evenings to get everyone together. They were extremely supportive for when I feel sick during my stay and was super understanding. I would definitely recommend any travellers to past by to volunteer at this school. It's a little out of the way of the city, in a rural area so there's not an awful lot else to offer but if you're looking for a reset this is a great place too!

The role was as listed and the food was good. The lessons are with people of varying ages and English abilities, taking place in the afternoon. It is about 50mins from the main part of town and it can be challenging to get transport between the two. I would recommend this experience, it's good for people looking for a chill break from their travels. However, I wouldn't recommend it for March & April. I was there in April and there was extreme heat (40 degrees plus) we were outside all day with no aircon. Air quality is also bad this time of year due to burning season so do your research.

This was the greatest experience in my one month in Thailand. While it wasn't perfect- the beds could be more comfortable and communication and organization could be improved, I had an outstanding time. The volunteer coordinator Gong is a great problem solver and the ultimate resource, the kitchen ladies are so wonderful and masters of deliciousness, the connections I made to the other volunteers was awesome, the host organized parties and activities for us, and I loved the location outside of the city. I hope people will read the reviews to know what they're getting into but I'd recommend.

It was a nice experience living in a very cozy little homestay away from the town. You get a chance to meet a lot of travelers from all around the world and in the afternoon having the chance to teach English to people all ages. Bamboo rafting there is a must thing to do.

Ban Bon Doi is a very beautiful homestay and a perfect place if you need peace surrounded by nature. It is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the food was good (and generous portions). We also had the chance to do bamboo rafting, cooking classes and we had a bbq night. The place is a bit outside the city though so keep this in mind and consider maybe renting a bike. The classes are easy and the students are nice. The only downsides would be the lack of communication and also that the bicycles provided for volunteers are not working. Overall it was a very good experience! Thank you

I stayed for a week, it was absolutely gorgeous! Fai and Ping Pong were both very welcoming and kind. Their space is about a 30 minute drive outside of Chiang Mai, and we got Sundays off, so we went into town for the Sunday night market which was amazing! The only thing I would say before going is to learn a little bit about teaching English before you get there or upon arrival, because they kind of just give you the computer and the notes on the students. The notes are important in my opinion because it really allows you to get a grasp of what the student needs.
