The other volunteers explained most of the tasks, and we spent a lot of time talking and chilling. That was definitely the best part of it. Because of the high number of volunteers and since I'm not a native speaker, during my week I didn't teach once. Instead, Fai (the host) sent me a message to offer me to help with the gardening (sweeping leaves mostly) for 3hrs per day. Gong and Ms. Tiw were fantastic. There are bikes that you can use, but they might need some repairing. They are flexible when it comes to staying shorter or longer, so I'd recommend starting with a week and see how it goes.

Gong was a kind person and always tried to help in any way he could. The activities are very simple, some days with several classes and others with fewer. As for the location, it's 1 hour from the old town, and the facilities aren't always very clean, but it's a beautiful place with lots of things to do. I recommend the experience, it was a wonderful stay with incredible people.

I had a great time during my stay in Mae Wang. I met amazing people and made a lot of new friends. Everything went globally well, except some few issues within the organization and communication. Also, be aware that the homestay is a little bit far from Chiang Mai (about 30min), and there is not so much to do in the surroundings. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this place if you're looking for a break from the city in a quiet and peaceful environment.

I will forever remember this experience. It was our first Worldpackers experience and what a great start! It's a great place to make lifelong friendships and spend time with people with similar values. Accommodation was very bare but that was expected. They provide a small breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a party 1x a week! The lessons are quite easy, most of the time the students are looking for Native speakers to practice conversational English with. Would definitely recommend if you want to meet amazing people!

I loved my time here! I met so many other travellers & the work was easy. I just wished there was more communication as the volunteers explained everything to me. It is peaceful however I wouldn't recommend doing more than 1-2 weeks max as there isn't much to do. The food was really good and the staff was lovely!

Pros - The other volunteers we met were incredible and really socialable. - The food is good. - Some accomodation is private rooms (mainly for couples). - The work is easy. - The hosts plan 2 x activites a week. Cons - The accomodation is basic and not all has AC or fan. - No one welcomes you or really explains what you are doing, it is mainly all guided by other volunteers. - There isnt alot to do or see around the area, if you had a motorcycle it would be easier. - The hosts provides bikes but they need to be repaired. Would recommend a week maximum.

My volunteer experience at school was memorable. I made a lot of friends there. They organized a BBQ for us, which was the perfect way to say goodbye. The best part was the bar— the staff there were genuinely some of the kindest people I have ever met. The work itself was easy, but it could be draining, especially when you had to sit at a computer for 4-5 hours. I do wish they would explained the project. I didn't fully understand what we were contributing to, so it felt more like a work exchange than a true volunteer experience. I recommend this experience and made friends for life ☺️

The volunteering was a nice experience, I got to connect with a lot of people from different parts of the world, the space there is amazing and full of nature. I wish there was more communication and care by the hosts and also wish there was someway to give classes face to face, working through the computer all the time can get a little boring and tiring. I wish some small things would change but overall it was a great experience and definitely recommend to someone who wants to connect with people and nature, and have an impact on some thai people!

My two weeks at the school were really good. The place was really peaceful and the job, overall, was easy, although you need to take into consideration you will spend a lot of time in front of a computer, since the lessons are online and you will not always have the same students. The food was really nice. We had free mornings and weekends, and we managed to organise a few trips (bamboo rafting and to some waterfalls). It would have been nice if someone in the staff had welcome us and showed us around, as I felt a little lost when I arrived and no one explained me anything.

The food was ok, though I wish the vegetarian options had more protein. The work can be a bit tedious at times, especially spending so much time on the laptop. The location is quite far from the city. We did have to ask about the bamboo rafting experience that other volunteers mentioned, but once we brought it up, they organized it for 200 baht per person, which was nice. It would be great if there was more engagement with the volunteers, as I was mostly handed a laptop and left to figure things out. Overall, it feels more like a work exchange than a true volunteer experience.
