This was my first volunteering experience through Worldpackers and I had a great time. the hostel has 10+ volunteers and staff who were incredibly friendly as soon as I arrived and integrated me into daily hostel events. The work schedule was clear and as described, and the shifts vary between mornings and evenings which enables plenty of time to explore Edinburgh. the hostel has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere and is ideally located in Haymarket (a 25-minute walk to the busy old town and great transport links elsewhere). This is my second experience and from the beginning I felt so welcomed by the staff and the crew. The schedule was very well structured and clear. The workhours was perfect and shifted so you had time to do different things at different times. There was a bunch of activities to do at the hostel and also in the city of Edinburgh. It is located perfectly by the trainstation and close to everything. I developed my understanding of the world and different cultures and made friends for life. This felt like a second home and so I extended my stay. I will definitely return as soon as I can!!!

This was my first experience volunteering with Worldpackers, and it was absolutely amazing! I met so many kind people and the shifts were very simple and easy. the hostel is also very close to the center of Edinburgh so its easy to walk around anywhere. I would definitely recommend as it was an experience I wont forget. :)

My very first Worldpackers experience was perfect, thanks to Stephanie, a kind and supportive host who genuinely cares. When I lost my phone, she helped me until I got it back. But this place is so much more—it's a lively community where strangers instantly feel like family. I ended up extending my stay for weeks because time here flies by so fast you don't even notice. The days are full of fun, events, and heartfelt human connection. I wasn't just volunteering; I was living and creating memories with friends. It's a priceless experience that sets the bar incredibly high.

The hostel has been my first Volunteering in a Hostel and I couldn't ask for a better experience. It really felt like home and I will never forget every single person I met there. The work was really easy and let a lot of time for yourself. The activities we planned during the week were also unique and super fun like fire camp on the beach or Line Dance at the pub ! I'm really grateful for every day I spent there and couldn't help but extend my stay to enjoy it a bit more before my next adventures. Thank you for everything the hostel 🫶

Edinburgh was the fourth city of my journey, and thanks to this volunteering I became part of a young and vibrant team. We shared stories, food and laughter, just like a big loving family. Saying goodbye was the hardest part, because I realized how lucky I was to meet such wonderful people here. I'll always treasure these memories, every name and every smile, and I truly hope to come back one day.

Volunteering here has been one of the best parts of my travels. I've extended more times than I can remember and can absolutely see myself returning. Working in reception gave me the chance to learn new skills, meet people from all over the world, and feel part of a real community. The team is supportive and fun, and the hostel has such a welcoming energy. Staff, volunteers, and guests consistently describe this hostel as feeling like a home away from home. I'd recommend this experience to anyone—it's the kind of place you don't want to leave.

My stay at the hostel was so incredible. The chores were simple and never stressful, which made everyday more lovely than the last. The staff and other volunteers were so warm, supportive and quickly made Edinburgh feel like home. I have made some amazing friendships and met so many impressive people. I'd highly recommend this hostel for anyone looking for an exciting and memorable time!!

The month I spent at the hostel has easily been one of the best ones of my life - I've met amazing people from all around the world and had the chance to learn so much about myself. Stephanie, the manager, is very understanding and flexible; she gave me days off together so that I could go camping, and I never felt like the work was hard or took too much time. The staff and other volunteers were also lovely - it really felt like a family and made leaving so hard. There is a generous breakfast allowance, and the staff kitchen and volunteer rooms were perfect too. I can't recommend this enough!!

Una experiencia maravillosa y divertida!! El trabajo es sencillo y está muy bien organizado. Todas las semanas facilitan una planificación de la semana siguiente siendo flexibles si alguien lo necesita. Hay una habitación para el staff compartida donde duermen todos los voluntarios. Es muy buena oportunidad para conocer gente de todas partes, no solo con los voluntarios si no también con los huéspedes del Hostel. El idioma común es el inglés, por lo que si quieres mejorarlo es muy útil también. Estoy muy agradecida por todo a Stephanie. Lo recomiendo 100%. Volveré ☺️
