This is my first volunteering experience. Apart from initial miscommunication, everything else was good. I appreciated Nelia's cooking and kindness :) I appreciated that after talking to both Ricardo and Nelia about some issues, everything was dealt with. Thank you also for including tofu and oat milk, as I am lactose intolerant and do not eat meat. A really nice family, nice people:)

It was a very good experience! The work was peaceful, the people on the farm are also calm and respectful, the space is very nice and the meals were very good too. I enjoyed learning a little more about the sustainable cultivation of blackberries and raspberries and connecting with nature, seeing life happening in every possible way. The only point is that the internet isn't very good, and there are a lot of mosquitoes but I was already expecting that kind of thing as it's a farm and it didn't affect the experience at all.

This was my first WorldPackers experience and I could not have asked for better hosts. Nelia picked me up at the station when I arrived and was kind enough to drop me off when i left early on a Saturday. Ricardo is very respectful of work hours, and flexible if you want time to see the sights. He gives great recommendations. The work is explained to you and there is no confusion about your responsibilities. It is not heavy work. I cannot say enough good graces about the generosity of Ricardo and his family, very kind people. I had a great experience & hope to come back! P. S. bring bug spray!

I absolutely cannot recommend this experience enough. Ricardo and Nélia welcome you with open arms and make it such a positive experience. The farm is in a great location and is very flexible with days off to allow you to explore. Ricardo has tons of recommendations in the area and they both will bring you along with them when they go out and show you the area. The work is easy and Nélia's cooking is amazing!! It's such an amazing opportunity with amazing hosts and if you can come you absolutely should, just bring big spray :)

Super recommend this experience! The farm itself is organized and definitely is not a dirty workplace as some people wonder. I have learned about growing berries and made me more conscious about it, valuing even more. I'd like to highlight the hospitality here, I felt welcomed and safe and was great having the pool available. Everyone, specially Nalia, was tireless cooking for us, helping with rides and tour tips. I was able to explore unforgettable places in Algarve and local food. Just be aware and prepared for mosquitos, low internet and Uber to go places. I can say I did great friends:)

I absolutely adored my time at the farm! Ricardo is helpful, respectful and flexible with the work hours, and Nelia is the kindest, most caring person I have ever met in my life. Everybody, including the guys who work on the farm, made me feel so welcome and I felt settled from my very first day. I really quite enjoyed the work- it can be very hot and very dirty but that makes it a bit fun. Nelia's cooking is incredible and you won't be hungry. 10/10 experience, very much recommend.

After staying here for a month, I can honestly say that everyone was very kind, hardworking and welcoming! I am truly grateful. If you want to see how a family run fruit farm operates and get the chance to experience the stunning Algarve on your time off, this is the place to be! Just don't forget your insect repellent for your work outside on the farm 😉

I had a great experience at the farm! The work was exactly as expected, Ricardo answered any questions I had about the farm and everyone was very kind during the entire experience. I highly recommend this opportunity, but I do want to make one note completely unrelated to the work experience, but I feel may be helpful for others to know—there are dogs that bark at night and may be disruptive to light sleepers. Overall, incredible experience!!
