The Experience

The work consists in helping in the daily tasks in a raspberry farm. Picking, packing, maintenance, planting can be necessary and will be learned. The work is completely in the nature, weather is usually sunny. A normal shift usually starts around 9h until 14h.

The work was not exhausting, living there was warm and welcoming! Transportation in that area is not good, but uber and bolt are cheap apps there. The only thing I found a bit uncomfortable was that the bathroom was inside the house, far from our room. I recommend this volunteering!

Ricardo and Nelia were such incredible hosts. They were very attentive the entire time so that we didn't lack anything, the working hours were fair and the work is enjoyable. The place was amazing and we enjoyed so much our free time going to so many beaches around.

I really enjoyed my time at the farm. It is perfect to get in touch with nature and learn some things about farming. The work was easy and everything was explained well. Ricardo was flexible with working hours and days off. Ricardo and Nelia were very both really welcoming. They had many recommendations about what to do, gave me a ride and Nelia made delicious food. Thanks for this lovely experience!

This was my first volunteering experience and I had a great time. Ricardo and Nelia are kind, hardworking people. It was really interesting to work on the farm and learn about it from Ricardo, who is also flexible with which days you work. Nelia provided great food every day and was caring, making sure we had everything we needed. They gave helpful recommendations of places to visit and even drove of to a couple of places. There are also plenty of Ubers available to visit beaches, hiking trails, and nearby towns. Boliqueime is a nice small town and you can feel connected to nature on the farm.
