Enjoyed my time at the hostel. It's my first time volunteering and I can say that it was an amazing experience for me. The manager and other volunteers taught me well during my training phase. Shift schedules were flexible. Had a lot of time to explore Thailand.

I got a super warm welcome at the hostel from the team, especially Webb, the girl who works there. Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend much time with them because of some communication issues and all the different tasks I had to learn. They really need someone who already has experience in hostel reception and is fully fluent in English since things are pretty busy, and there's not much time to train volunteers. Still, I had a really positive experience in the short time I was there. Thanks for everthing!!

I had a good time there. Effie was very welcoming and she created a very friendly atmosphere. I worked at the bar outside the hostel in the evening and had plenty of time exploring Bangkok during the day. There are pretty much things to see and visit near the hostel but the hostel itself was very quiet during my stay. It was my first experience with Worldpackers and I didn't miss anything. The only thing I didn't like that much was the volunteer dorm, it was very small and warm but besides that, I had a good time.

Bad: 1. Lack of orderly training, mostly learning in the fly. 2. Relations with Thai staff - lack of understanding my role and language miscommunication created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Good: Comfortable accommodation, friendly volunteers and most staff, stress free shifts and flexibility.

The owner Effie is really cozy and friendly but she mainly works in the bar and I worked in the reception so we didn't share too much time. In the volunteering you have free breakfast 2 eggs, tea, coffee, bananas, toast and 1 cupcake every day. You work 4 hours a day 1 day off. The hotel is located really close to the main landmarks so you can walk everywhere. In the hotel work a Myanmar family, Whan and Wive who are really nice. Otherwise I felt uncomfortable with the manager Summer and the cook who had almost all the time a hostil treatment whit volunteers, customers and workers being rude.

I stayed at the hostel for 1.5 months and would recommend it only if the vibe and staff improve. There's a kitchen and selfmade breakfast (2 eggs and toast), but the staff makes it hard to access and is picky about ingredients so be prepared to eat out as the kitchen is locked when staff leave. Also new seating arrangements makes staying in the commonarea uncomfortable. The hostel is quiet with nice/clean bathrooms near temples and 15 minutes from KaoSan. Good for exploring Bangkok before or after shift but not for socializing or remote work, as you'll be mostly alone and the WiFi isn't good

This experience has been a good time in general. Effie is a really friendly and nice person 😊 Only few things they have to improve in the hostel. Staff is not helpful at all. Even though some of them can't speak english, they don't try to help you in a nice way. However, my time in the bar Motu Bangkok was great. I learned about drinks and cocktails, so it's a new skill now for me.

I just left early and feel like I've escaped prison. I now understand why I and another new volunteer replaced two others who left abruptly. This hostel has the three rudest, angriest people in Thailand as the manager, cook, and cleaner. They scowl, passive aggressively ignore greetings, avoid eye contact, and bark orders in Thai. Male volunteers either face sexual harassment from the 44 y/o manager, Summer, or are on her shit list. Females are also made miserable. There's a long term trans roommate volunteer who never speaks. The only kind smiles come from the two lovely workers from Myanmar.

I feel sorry that we haven't met and didn't have a chance to know you before you left. I have to say that the problem may be very sensitive between you and other staffs. I will manage them to better fit with everyone. Thank you for your time.

Great place, work was as described. Decided to leave early because I was offered a free place to stay in Bangkok, but would've stayed if it didn't come up!
